Name the song the line is from Part II

Pretty sure that's Anne Murray. You Needed Me.

Let's try this:

Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things to come

There’s some good old William “Smokey” Robinson stuff right there. It’s “You really got a hold on me”.

Something on this thread made me think of this one from 1976:

Music fills your heart
Well that's a real fine place to start

Edited to clean up bad paste
Music fills your heart
Well that's a real fine place to start

Who is that guy?? I'll bet he writes songs.

(Edit: Meant to tell you, Cyn, that I did listen to Magnet and Steel. You always pick the pretty ones, and I don't know why I didn't remember it. I must have slept in that month, or something.)

Yeah, Jim. We were discussing this guy a few days ago. Ironically he didn’t write this one, but the song is called what it is called. And it made the young girls cry too.

Edited to add: I think it's lunch time in NY, NY
Yes, J-M is probably at lunch, LOL. It's "I Write the Songs" by Barry M.

Leaving the floor open ...
I have one - Brit Invasion Hit (but first recorded by an American)

Sometimes I find myself long regretting
some foolish thing, some little simple thing I've done.

Tony, I do not know your lyrics/ carry on kids
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good.

Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.

When they wrote that, I think the Animals knew how I feel sometimes, Tony.

Does anyone remember this one from 1972:

Some people have hearts of stone
Some people are up to no good

More lines and a hint or two;

Some people are made of plastic
You know, some people are made of wood
Some people have hearts of stone
Some people are up to no good

It's a Detroit group, but not one of the big Motown names.

If 'whatcha' is considered to be one word, the song has a five-word title. 'Whatcha' is in there twice.
