Name the song the line is from Part II

Ahhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's:

DAYBREAK by Barry Manilow-,
- covered by absolutely no one else... (Maybe Otis Elevator..)

We are stardust/we are golden

Well, that one got to be Woodstock. I think the version I remember best was done by CSN & (I think) Y.

From 1971:

You ain't supposed to be here

I believe that is "Signs"

How about this mega hit from the 60's

And of all the things that I want
In this whole wide world

You know, I think I'm going to wait on this one.

I thought I knew a song into which the lyrics fit. I'd definitely call it a hit. I wouldn't call it a mega hit.

I think I be missing something.

That’s such a good song, Tony. A real “toe tapper” as Artie used to say. It’s “Keeping the faith” by Billy Joel.
I like the theme we are following here.

This only charted in the 20s in 1977. But it’s my favorite “Feel Good” song:

It's time we let the spirit come in
Let it come on in

I'm so embarrassed. Bob, please accept my apologies for calling you Tony.

I really need to stop multi-tasking so much.

I really do like the song you posted.

Now back to:

And of all the things that I want
In this whole wide world

Edited: I'm still messing up. Sorry, All
Aw, that's OK, I 've been called a lot worse! Bob
After some checking, I discovered that this song is actually from the late 50's! Sorry!

Hint: It is on the rolling stones top 500 songs of all time. That narrows it down, huh! Bob

Don't know the original, but that sounds a lot like Otis Reading - Your Precious Love.

Assuming that my last one was right, I'll post this

Seventies Rock

I can't feel, I can't see,

Yikes! That was gettin' confusing. Here's my take on this...this...ball of confusion.

Jerry Butler was first to do For Your Precious Love, which he co-wrote, in the 50s. It was the song I had in mind a few posts back. I've since found that it hit #11 on the US charts (#3 R&B). Hit? Yes. Mega hit? You tell me. Anyway, it contains the lyrics in Bob's original post.

There were a few 60s covers, one of which was done by Otis Redding in a 1965 album track that, best I can tell, was never released as a single. Overall, his version is very similar to Jerry Butler's, but he altered the lyrics here and there and, as a result, it doesn't contain the exact lyrics of Bob's original post.

Complicating matters is the fact that Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell did a 60s duet of a totally different song, called Your Precious Love. The word For was dropped, probably to avoid confusion and/or copyright issues with Butler's earlier song.

Tony, I agree that you're the winner for being the first to mention a title that was close enough. Edit: I be thinking on your lyrics.
