Duh! Just One Look.
The really dumb thing is that I still play that!

Hello, everyone. I can’t tell you how good it is to be back. I just spent 5½ days in the hospital for a medical emergency…that wasn’t.

On a routine visit to the Doctor, I mentioned a few things that I was concerned about. Actually, wondering about would be more accurate. Bad move. Somehow, based on what I said, The Doctor thought that I might have some internal bleeding going on, and sent me directly to the hospital for tests that were supposed to be performed on an out-patient basis.

While I was there, they drew some blood samples that they said showed the presence of chemical markers suggesting that I’d had a recent heart attack. That’s when the shit hit the fan, and I soon found myself flat on my back in ICU. During the next several days, I underwent ultrasounds for this and ultrasounds for that, an endoscopy, a colonoscopy, probably a few other –scopies, and, ultimately, a cardiac catheterization/angiogram.

Bottom line:
They found no internal bleeding. Anywhere.
They found no blocked arteries on the heart. Apparently, not even close. I didn’t have a heart attack.

By yesterday evening, I’d had enough, and told them I wanted to be released. They didn’t argue. From now on, I’m going to be a little more careful about what I say to the family doctor, and a little less willing to go along with everything he suggests.

Thanks to the unplanned interruption in my life, I've now got some other things to catch up with, but I'll still play here on the thread when I can.

Tony, I think your lyrics are from Have You Ever Been Mellow, by Olivia Newton-John. Mellow lyrics from a mellow song.

While I was in the hospital, I had a nightmare about hands coming at me. Hands with needles and syringes and prods and probes and...stuff. I remember thinking about this song the next morning:

My honey, my baby, don't put my love on no shelf

Jim, I don't know your song, but wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your horrible experience the last few days. What a nightmare! I'm glad you're okay.
Wow, Jim. What an ordeal! I’m sorry to hear about what you went through. But at least you now know just how healthy you actually are. What, with all the tests they did. I’m glad to see you back on the boards, Pal.

As for your song, I believe that’s “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” by Georgia Satellites.

Even though these guys are from Texas, I think of them whenever I think of Georgia Satellites:

The whole world’s gone crazy
Think I’ve seen enough
I’m gonna sleep forever…

Thanks, guys. Good choice of song, Cyn!

I do believe that's the Fabulous Thunderbirds singing Why Get Up? Indeed.

Let's try:

Your smile is divine
But you keep me guessin'
Will you ever be mine?

What a frightening, horrible experience. Glad you're alright.
Thanks, Phil.

OK, here's another line, and a few hints:

You look like an angel
Your smile is divine
But you keep me guessin'
Will you ever be mine?

This song was a minor hit for a 50s doo-wop group whose name I won't mention, but finding one with four leaves is supposed to bring good luck.

A male soloist from Fargo, ND covered it in 1960, and took it to #6 on the charts. He had a number of early 60s hits.

In the lyrics, the singer admits he's uncertain whether his girl is a blessing or curse, but he's made up his mind to stick with her either way.

Hey, Tony, I've been meaning to tell you that I like your avatar. Would I be correct in assuming that it's an image of Mr. Roberts himself?

Just wondering.
