Name the song the line is from Part II

Hey, I like that one! Don't you be callin' it silly.

It's Chick-A-Boom, by Daddy Dewdrop.

From 1967 (#5 US / #1 UK):

When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray

That’s alright for you, Jim. I won’t go knockin’ it. It must be a guy thing.
Your latest is “Whiter Shade of Pale”. I have heard many different renditions, but the hit was by Procol Harum. It’s a nice song.

Same year, but very different song:

She's been my inspiration
Showed appreciation
for the love I gave her through the years.

Edited for bad paste

That be I Was Made To Love Her, by Mr. Stevie Wonder. Good one!

Go back one more year to 1966, and you might come across this:

Can't they understand that I want her?
Happens every week

Hey, Tony, I've been meaning to tell you that I like your avatar. Would I be correct in assuming that it's an image of Mr. Roberts himself?

Just wondering.

Just got back from a quick trip combining business and the chance to see Valdi (sing me a rock and roll song) again.
My wife was surfing and told me that she found a photo of me in Stockholm. Couldn't believe it when I saw it - it was me - except for the shirt - I never owned one like that. But the lighting was right - it looked like I used to look a long time ago - and I am a lefty too! But I thought it would make a good Avatar.

Either way, I think it's a great avatar for you.

And don't worry, buddy. None of us look like we used to look a long time ago.

A few more lines, and a few hints about my latest one:

Can't they understand that I want her?
Happens every week
Heavy hand upon my collar
Throws me in the street

It's an English band, formed in Manchester in the early 60s. The group's name was based in part on the members' admiration for an American artist who died tragically on February 3, 1959.

It's the only song the group performed live that featured a banjo part.

The song title consists of three words or, more precisely, one word repeated three times.

Ahh - that is Stop Stop Stop - The Hollies.
Good to see you back and fit Jim

************** NEW *************

I feel inclined to blow my mind,
get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun:

Damn, finally got through. I couldn't get the Kitchen Sink forum to open. It just kept timing out. Pain in the butt.

Anyway, that one looks like Itchycoo Park, by Small Faces. Nice!

This was a #2 US hit in 1968. Only went to #30 in the UK, but it's all I can think of at the moment:

Yeah, darling, gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace

That’s just about the only line I remember from “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf. The rest is just music to me. But, it’s funny that it makes me want to drive faster. Go figure.

Let’s go to 1977:

Through all I sit here and I wait
You will return again some day
to my blue world

ELO had a sound all their own. I liked most everything they did. That one is Turn To Stone.

From 1964 (#7 US/#1 UK):

I'll give you candy and a quarter
If you're quiet, like you oughta be
And keep a secret with me
