ELO had a sound all their own. I liked most everything they did. That one is Turn To Stone.

From 1964 (#7 US/#1 UK):

I'll give you candy and a quarter
If you're quiet, like you oughta be
And keep a secret with me

Ah memories -

That is Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas - Little Children

Sixties!

In the shelter of her arms everything's OK
When she talks then the world goes slippin' away
And I know the reason I can still go on
When every other reason is gone,

I sure do like that one, Tony. It’s “Five O’clock World” by The Vogues.

More 60s here:

No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing happening to you

Great song Cyndee - Stones - Paint it Black

Staying in the decade -

And when your world don't seem just right
And life's gettin' you uptight

I never felt that those guys got the recognition they deserved, musically speaking. 'Those guys' were Paul Revere and The Raiders. Right now, they're singing Good Thing. Good song!

A San Jose band took this one to #8 in 1966. Unfortunately for them, they proved to be a one hit wonder:

Other girls did it, you didn't think of nothin' new
You went out on me, so other girls did it too

The band was never well known because they were a one hit wonder. Still, I thought it was a pretty good song.

Probably won't help, but I'll add a few more lines, including the two word title:

Other girls did it, you didn't think of nothin' new
You went out on me, so other girls did it too

You can leave ______ ____, I don't want you around no more
If you come knockin', you won't get past my door...yeah!

You got nothin' to hide, and everybody knows it's true
Too bad, ______ ____, it's all over for you...ha-ha-ha-ha

I'll give it up a little later if necessary.

OK, looks like that one isn't going to work. It was Little Girl, by the Syndicate of Sound.

This one was first recorded as an album track in 1972, and then released as a single in 1973:

So if you want this world of yours to turn about you
And you can see exactly what to do, please tell me

I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band,,by the Moody Blues.Just saw them a few weeks ago at Ceasars Windsor. They stiil sound great for 60+ year old guys!

From 1962,

When your lips are touching mine

They're sweeter

Much sweeter than wine

Bob

Oops. Hints not needed.

I always liked that one, Bob. I Love You (or should I say IIIIIII love yooooou, I-I-I-I-I-I really doooooooo). I think it was done by the Volumes (?)

This is from 1964:

How would I know, why should I care?

Yeah, that was the Volumes, another Detroit group, with a great Doo Wop classic.

Is it She's not there? By the Zombies? Bob
