That would be Legs, by ZZ Top. Aren't they from some backward little cow town in Texas?

In 1970, this one did well on both sides of the pond:

Hitch a ride to the end of the highway
Where the neons turn to wood

OK - I got the band - last year I saw their singer - now on his own and better for it - do this song - but can't remember the line that contains the title! Working on it . . .

By CCR - or Fogerty - both are good.

This was a #2 hit (#1 AC) in 1982:

Some men go crazy
Some men go slow
Some men go just where they want
Some men never go

Hi All,

That’s a good one, Jim. It’s “Shame On The Moon” by Bob Seger.

This should go well:

But it's all right
that is I think it's not too bad

That's a good one, too!

It's Strawberry Fields Forever, by the Beatles.

From 1968:

Because a friend will always be there
If you're wrong or if you're right

Looks like a hint or two may be in order.

This song was written, produced and sung by a male duo. It reached #8 on the charts in 1968.

Despite this and other recording successes, the two are best known for their prolific songwriting skills. They wrote virtually all of the Monkee's early hits, for example, along with hits for Jay & The Americans and Paul Revere & The Raiders. They also wrote the theme song for the daytime soap Days Of Our Lives.

This song includes a fair amount of chatter between the artists, and example of which is shown below in parentheses:

(Alright Bobby, let's go)
Because a friend will always be there
If you're wrong or if you're right
And now _ _______ ____ ___'_ _____ _______

I do believe that is “I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight”. I’m thinking that one was done by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart.

I’ll stick with the 60s here:

After you made me all your own
Then you left me all alone

That's a good one right there. Love Is Here And Now You're Gone, by the Supremes.

I hope a 1988 song will fly. This one, that I heard in the car today, was a #3 hit that year:

Without your love, I'm nothin' but a beggar
Without your love, a dog without a bone

I'm just not pickin' 'em so well today. Sorry.

I'll try a few more lines and a hint or two, but give it up soon if they don't help. Here are the lines:

Don't know what I'm gonna do about this feeling inside
Yes it's true, loneliness took me for a ride
Without your love, I'm nothin' but a beggar
Without your love, a dog without a bone
What can I do, I'm sleepin' in this bed alone...baby...

The group formed in Boston in 1970. They've been very successful over the years, but knowing that doesn't necessarily help to identify them. Here are two things that might:

The lead singer has a very flamboyant personality, and a big mouth. I don't mean that he blabs a lot. I just mean that his mouth is, like, physically large, lol.

He has two daughters. The eldest is a well known American actress.

I'll give it up soon if this doesn't help.

I believe that he has a slightly smaller mouth this week. He fell in the shower and knocked his teeth out!
Bet's are on as to whether his version "Food poisoning made me dizzy" or the more widely believed "back to old ways" will prove correct.

Prior to losing his teeth, Mt Tyler and the rest of Aerosmith recorded Angel.

************ NEW *************

Very small clue for this BIG '70's number

And when the cupboard’s bare,
