It is Cyndee - looks like you are up!

Well then, here’s one from 1970:

Great God in heaven
you know I love you.

That was Ides of March - Vehicle.
Interesting story - shortly after this they broke up and Jim founded Survivor. wrote their hits and made a lot of loot. About 17 years later Jim left Survivor because Ides of March was reforming - and are still playing today. I preferred Survivor.

Sixties

Why do you flirt and constantly hurt me ?
Why do you treat our love so carelessly

Edited to add -
This 1962 BIG US hit charted in the UK but failed to make the top 30.
She (Ooohh - big clue ) went on to record it in Spanish, Japanese, German, and two Italian dialects.
It was also a hit in Australia and New Zealand. I first heard it on the juke box at my uncles pub next to the American Airbase in Croughton, Blackey, Oxfordshire (That last bit wasn't a clue LOL)

Morning, everyone.

Connie Francis is the only singer I know of who routinely recorded in so many different languages. Took me forever to come up with the song title, though. Drove me crazy for longer than just a little bit. (You just got even for Up Around The Bend, Tony )

It's Don't Break The Heart That Loves You.

This 1969 tune was a chart-topper in the US, and nearly so in the UK. I think noahcat would say it's easy-peasy, since it pretty much sings itself:

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me

That would be Let it Be by the Beatles. Great tune! I am surprised that it didn't do better in the UK. Here's one that reached the top 5 in both the US and the UK:

And its taken you so long to find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything.

Good one, 'poke! I liked that one a lot.

It's Baker Street, by Gerry Rafferty.

This is from 1970 (#4US/#2UK):

There she stood in the street
Smilin' from her head to her feet
I said "A-hey, what is this?"
Now baby maybe, maybe she's in need of a kiss

I’ve always considered this song to be somewhat of a rock classic. I heard it, along with the Aerosmith song I did last night, and a few others on the Classic Rock station I was listening to when I was out driving yesterday. They’re all top-5 songs, but they don’t seem to be working very well here anymore.

Anyway, looks like everyone has seen this latest one, and I don’t want to hold things up any longer, so I’ll give it up.

It was All Right Now, by Free. They were an English band, but the song was very well received in the US (#4), as well as the UK (#2).

I’ll leave the floor open.

That was a great song by a great band Jim.
Here they are performing it live at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival -

Sixties - A syrupy song from a syrupy group -

I've got this love and I long to share it

That's Have I The Right?. (right?) I think the Honeycombs did it.

Sorry if my frustration showed through earlier. I'm only mad at myself. I'll try another one.

In 1966, a female soloist had English lyrics written for this tune, which was originally sung in Italian. Then she turned it into a hit (#4 US/ #1 UK):

Left alone with just a memory
Life seems dead and so unreal
All that's left is loneliness
There's nothing left to feel
