Name the song the line is from Part II

I have that going on here today. It really is raining though. The song is “Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again” by The Fortunes.

Phil said something about repetition that reminded me of this song from 1981:

You know it when you’re dancin', yeah
You show it as you move across the floor

Yep. And Phil was talking about a Kool and the Gang song, too. I guess they were a repetitive bunch. Yours is Get Down On It.

My jukebox seems to be stuck on soft rock from the year 1980. I think I can probably unstick it after this one:

(Rainbow) Risin' over my shoulder
(Love flows) Gettin' better as we're older
(All I know) All I wanna do is hold her
She's the life that breathes in me

That be “You’re The Biggest Part Of Me” by Ambrosia.

Soft Rock it is, from 1982:

Let it shine wherever you go
Let it make a happy glow
For all the world to see
That's a good one! Gotta like pretty much everything that guy ever did.

It's Neil Diamond, singing Heartlight

OK, I whacked my jukebox, and it spit out this song from 1972. I don't think it's stuck on soft rock anymore:

Guess I got what I deserved
Kept you waiting there too long, my love
All that time without a word
Didn't know you'd think that I'd forget, or I'd regret
The special love I had for you...

OK, hint time. I'll add another verse, and show where the two-word title is:

Guess I got what I deserved
Kept you waiting there too long, my love
All that time without a word
Didn't know you'd think that I'd forget, or I'd regret
The special love I had for you, my ____ ____

All the days became so long
Did you really think, I'd do you wrong?
Dixie, when I let you go
Thought you'd realize that I would know I would show
The special love I have for you, my ____ ____

This English band evolved from one initially formed in the early 60s. In 1968, they were signed by the Beatles' Apple label, and adopted their new name in 1969.

In the early 70s, they enjoyed four worldwide hits, of which this song was one. Unfortunately, they eventually became embroiled in the chaos of Apple Records dissolution, and made an unwise choice in hiring a new manager, further complicating their problems.

Unable to record for another label due to legal issues, the group fell into despair and financial hardship, leading to the eventual suicides of two of the original four members. New members were recruited and the group (sometimes two groups both using the band's name, and each claming to be the "original") began to record and tour, but they never regained their former lustre.

Now there's an uplifting story, huh?

Anyway, I still like the song, lol.

Sounds a lot like Baby Blue - Badfinger.
A was not a big Badfinger fan but liked them in their Iveys days

************ NEW ************

Some 1961 to stretch your memories -

They hollered and whistled never wanted to stop
We pony and twisted and we rocked with Daddy G

Thanks for getting my butt outta that one, Tony. When I originally posted the lyrics to the Badfinger song, I (obviously ) wasn't even thinking about the depressing story behind the group!

I'm not sure, so I won't post anything, but is yours Bristol Stomp?

Yes! I thought that one would take a while

OK, thanks, Tony.

I've got two song choices here -- one from 1959, and the other from 1982. I'd guess that Cyndee knows both of them. I'd like to do the one from '59, but I'm not sure it ever crossed the Atlantic, so you may not know it.

The '82 song came from the UK, so I guess I'll play it safe and do that one:

Do you remember when we used to dance
And incidents arose from circumstance
One thing led to another, we were young
And we would scream together songs unsung

Great pick - Asia - Heat of the moment.

Here is one from one of my absolute favourite bands -

New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I'll buy me a football team
