Name the song the line is from Part II

Great song by a great group, Tony!

From The Darkside Of The Moon album, that's Pink Floyd singing Money. That still gets beaucoup airplay on the classic rock stations here.

From 1967:

When we were at school, our games were simple
I played a janitor, you played a monitor

Hi All,

Those Hollies really knew how to sing ‘em. That one is “Carrie Anne” and it’s a great choice, Jim.

An excellent rendition of this charted in 1967:

I've heard it all a million times before
Take off your coat, my love, and close the door

Good one! That's Pet Clark singing Don't Sleep In The Subway.

This band has shown up here here a few times just recently. The song is from 1974:

I was talking to an Eskimo
Said he was hopin' for a fall of snow
When up popped a sea lion ready to go

Haven't heard that in quite a while

Sixties

We stood on a beach at sunset, do you remember when?

P.S. If you enjoyed Dark Side of The Moon, I highly recommend the DVD - The Making of The Dark Side of The Moon

Do I remember when, huh? No I don’t but the question comes from “Sunshine Superman” by Donovan. That, I do remember.

That reminds of another musical question:

Can you picture the things I’m thinking of?

I still hope this will fly. (Hint). I can’t seem to find the chart standings for this. I just know it gets a little airplay on Soft. Rock stations. Should I give hints yet?

I knew that I had heard this in a movie - your "Fly" hint did it.
It is a song from Superman.
I think that it is called Read My Mind. Is that right?

Tonyrob

Close enough, Tony. It's "Can You Read My Mind?". It was done by Maureen McGovern. It's your go now.

Edited for punctuation
OK - this song is memorable for the wrong reasons - Bonus point for stating the reasons!

Why don't we take off alone
Take a trip somewhere far, far away

Tonyrob
I’m sure that one is “(Just Like) Starting Over” by John Lennon. The two significant points I can think of are:
1. He had not released any singles for a few years, so the song was a kind of “Come back”.
2. It went to #1 after he was murdered.

I think this one fits:

And I've been knocking but no one answers
And I've been knocking most all the day
