Name the song the line is from Part II

That's Who Are You, by some obscure English band or other.

From 1979:

Guess I'll be on my way
I won't be back to stay
I guess I'll move along
I'm lookin' for a good time

That’s “Sail On” by Lionel Richie. Good one, Jim.

This was #1 in both UK and US in 1980:

Every girl wants you to be her man
But I'll wait my dear 'til it's my turn

Good one! The Tide Is High, by Blondie.

From 1984:

Girl you're everthing a man could want and more
One thousand words are not enough to say what I feel inside
Holding hands as we walk along the shore
Never felt like this before, now you're all I'm living for

I’ll be in and out today, so I’m going to add some extra lines and hints to the lyrics I posted last night:

________, life has new meaning to me
There's beauty up above, and things we never take notice of
You wake up ________, you're in love

Girl, you're everything a man could want and more
One thousand words are not enough to say what I feel inside
Holding hands as we walk along the shore
Never felt like this before, now you're all I'm living for

In 1984, the song reached the #4 spot on both the US and UK charts. As you can see, it has a one-word title.

The artist is a Trinidad-born English songwriter/singer. He tended to write and sing mostly soft love songs. By my count, he had seven US top-ten hits, including three #1s.

I’ll give it up later today if no one guesses it.

Suddenly by Billy Ocean,I think maybe also Lionel Ritchie?

Anyways try this one:

I don't care if their legs are thin
I don't care if their teeth are big

Bob

That's a good one, Bob.

First I Look At The Purse, by the Contours.

Easy one (honest!):

Don't think that I don't need ya
Don't think I don't wanna please ya

That be “Love Child” by the Supremes.

This reached #1 in 1982:

We all know that people are the same where ever we go

That would be Ebony And Ivory, by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. Nice one.

I was looking at early 80s songs this morning, and decided to go with this. It also reached #1 in 1982:

'Cause when you say you will
It always means you won't
You're givin' me the chills, baby
Please, baby, don't

It's familiar, Jim. I'm just not quite getting it yet.

The singer is wishing that her boyfriend wouldn't leave her alone every night.

The one-word song title is the boyfriend's first name, and it comes up often in the next several lines:

'Cause when you say you will
It always means you won't
You're givin' me the chills, baby
Please, baby, don't
Every night you still leave me all alone, ______

Oh, ______, what a pity, you don't understand
You take me by the heart when you take me by the hand
Oh, ______, you're so pretty, can't you understand
It's guys like you ______
Oh, what you do, ______, do ______

The singer is also a choreographer who designed the moves and the costumes in the companion video around cheerleader routines.
