Name the song the line is from Part II

Who is to blame in one country?
Never can get to the one
Dealin' in multiplication
And they still can't feed everyone

A couple of hints:

This 1983 song was a #2 hit on both the US and UK charts. According to wikipedia, it was in the Electro Reggae genre. I never knew there was an Electro Reggae genre.

The song takes its name from a real street (or, um...avenue) in the Brixton Market area of London. Weird Al Yankovick, in his live performances, used to sing a parody of this song, that he called Flatbush Avenue.

A few more lines. If this doesn't do it, I'll give it up.

Two word title:

Oh, we gonna rock down to ________ ______
And then we'll take it higher

I recognize it now, Jim. It’s “Electric Avenue” by Eddie Grant.

Here’s one from a mid-80s film:

I see you through the smoky air
Can't you feel the weight of my stare
You're so close but still a world away
What I'm dyin' to say, is that I’m…

I didn't realize that was from a movie. Shows you what I know.

I'm pretty sure I never saw the flick, but I recognize the song. It's Crazy For You, by Madonna.

A one-hit wonder group took this song to #2 in 1970:

Hey girl, I bet you
There's someone out to get you
You'll find him anywhere
On a bus, in a bar, in a grocery store

I know that one. It’s “The Rapper”, but I can’t quite remember who did it. It’s really a catchy tune though.
BTW, “Crazy for you” was from a movie called “Vision Quest”. I never saw it, but heard the song a lot. And even now it’s played often on the radio around here.

Here’s another one from 1970:

Thought I heard a rumblin'
Callin' to my name,
Two hundred million guns are loaded
Satan cries, “Take aim!”

Thought I heard a rumblin'
Callin' to my name,
Two hundred million guns are loaded
Satan cries, “Take aim!

I was way off base at first on this one. I thought it sounded like an 80s Def Leppard song. It took me a while to recognize this song that I once knew very well. Too long ago, I guess.

Memories of the Vietnam era. It's Run Through The Jungle, by Credence.

I like this group. Mid-80s:

And I know, yes I know that it's plain to see
So in love when we're together
Now I know that I need you here with me
From tonight until the end of time

And I know, yes I know that it's plain to see
So in love when we're together
Now I know that I need you here with me
From tonight until the end of time

Just a hint before I log off. This band took its name from the third largest city in the US.

The hint did the trick....I was born in the now 3rd largest city in the US

You're the Inspiration by Chicago

an easy one....

new

So useless to ask me why
Throw a kiss and say goodbye
Good Morning All,

OOPS! Too late.
I believe that one is Deacon Blues, by Steely Dan, from the Aja album.

OK, here's another one-hit wonder that just popped into my head. I hate when that happens. A Bronx-based girl group took this one to #2 in 1963:

Saddest thing in the whole wide world
Is to see your baby with another girl

If no one guesses it forthright, I'll have to give it up. I've already given all the hints I can think of.

Edit: BTW, I can't imagine that anyone would remember the group. Just hoping that someone might remember the song.
