Name the song the line is from Part II

I think maybe that be Til, by the Angels?

Not sure Cyn, so I won't post any lyrics yet.

You got it, Jim. Go ahead.

By the way, even though I'm not sure about your song, Cyndee, I'm pretty sure I know Sue's song.

You can't live here in Houston and not hear that stuff.

It's I've Got Mexico. I just don't know who did it.

OK, let's see if one line will do it:

Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by

I’m glad Sue’s song wasn’t left behind. Thanks for covering that, Jim. I didn’t have a clue.
But, I really like those Jim Croce songs. We have “I’ve got a name” here.

Here’s one from 1980:

I found a sweet madonna
Ooo with a bible in her hand.
She's waiting,
Anticipating,
For someone to save her soul;
Well I ain't no new messiah,
But I'm close enough for rock and roll.

Sorry, Cyndee -- I must have had a brain freeze this morning. When I sang the song in my head tonight, I realized it was "Til." And I'm not even blond, LOL.

"I've Got Mexico" was by Eddy Raven, who looked and sounded great last night.

No clue on your new song, Cyndee ...

I found a sweet madonna
Ooo with a bible in her hand.
She's waiting,
Anticipating,
For someone to save her soul;
Well I ain't no new messiah,
But I'm close enough for rock and roll.

I think that one has a Southern flavor. Rockin' Into The Night, by .38 Special.

How 'bout:

You can make a break
You can win or lose
That's the chance you take

Adding one more line to the lyrics, and giving a hint or two:

You can make a break
You can win or lose
That's the chance you take
When the heat's on you

This guy wrote and sang this #2 song as a soloist in 1984, after the well known band of which he was a member broke up in 1980.

He penned the first hit single for that band in 1972. It placed them firmly on the road to stardom. That 1972 song had something to do with Winslow, Arizona, a girl, and a flatbed Ford.

Thanks for that last line, Jim. That’s got to be “The heat is on”. Wasn’t that Glenn Frey?

I don’t know if they used this song in that show (that never saw) or in the movie either (‘cause I also never saw it), but here goes:

When you're gone (when you’re gone)
How can I even try to go on
When you're gone (when you’re gone)
Though I try how can I carry on
Good Morning All,

I looked it up and this song was used in the musical play that opened in England in 1999. It is part of Act II. It was also used in the film that was released in 2008.
The song was originally recorded in 1974 and was this Swedish group’s third single making it into the U.S. top 20.

So when you're near me,
Darling can't you hear me

The love you gave me,
nothing else can save me
