Bingo ! The Al Jolson Story was on Turner Classic Movies Sunday. I hadn't seen it for many, many years.

No lyric from Sue. Here is a single line clue....

She'll turn softly and call my name out loud

I think that's Kenny Rogers. "She Believes in Me?" (I'm not sure)

In case I'm right ...

"You give me hope and consolation,
You give me strength to carry on"
You know, Sue?
I think Phil’s song looks more like “By the time I get to Phoenix”. But, in case it is “She believes in me”, I’ll guess yours too. It looks like “The wonder of you”. Both are really pretty songs.

Here’s one just in case:

Imagine me and you,
I do
I think about you day and night
Cyndee, you're right. I don't know why I thought it was Kenny Rogers, lol. But thanks for guessing mine anyway!

Yours is "Happy Together." I think. (I don't trust my memory anymore, lol.) The Turtles.

Here's one, although I'm not sure I'm remembering the lyrics correctly --

"Don't know that I will, but
until love can find me,
The girl who will stay,
won't play games behind me"
I'll be what I am ;

a solitary man/ Mr. Neil Diamond!!

Never saw the sun shinnin' so bright

Never saw things goin' so right
That's "Blue Skies." Not sure who sang the original. Maybe that was Al Jolson, too?

Can't think of anything new right now, and I have to go to work, so the floor is open.
It's a depression era tune- right now I'm listening to Willie Nelson do it from his Stardust album

Old Rock N Roll tune:

.....she's as skinny as a stick of macaroni
