Name the song the line is from Part II

"Wouldn't you give your heart to a friend"

I think that's Midnight Blue, by Melissa Manchester. I loved that song.

Just a silly thing from 1966:

I finally got to whisper sweet words in her ear
Convinced her that we ought to get away from there

I think that it's sweet pea
New lyrics:
Makes no difference where you are day or night time, your like a shinin' star

Makes no difference where you are day or night time, your like a shinin' star

I've been thinking about this one all day. I had a mental block because every time I tried to mentally sing through these lyrics, the song Shining Star by Earth Wind & Fire kept popping into my head. Frustrating.

Anyway, I think I know it now. It's Diamond Girl, by Seals and Crofts.

Let's try:

I've been waiting to awaken from these dreams

More lines and a hint:

'Cause I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
I've been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until
I got this feeling that it's later than it seems

This 1972 song was the first hit single for an American singer/songwriter/musician/political activist.

Good Morning All,

I know that one. It’s “Doctor my eyes” by Jackson Browne.

Changing gears here:

If he brings you happiness
Then I wish you all the best
It's your happiness that matters most of all
"Before the Next Teardrop Falls," by the late great Freddy Fender.

"You'll see a smiling face,
a fireplace, a cozy room"
A little nest that nestles where the roses bloom.

That’s “My Blue Heaven” done by many and such a good tune.

Another happy one:

Good times I remember
Fun days
Filled with simple pleasures
"Old Days" by Chicago

single line from a long time ago

We sat and talked about things on our mind
That looks like a line from “Reach out in the darkness”. Who did that?

Anyway, this should be easy:

Oh, Darlin’
I can't stand it,
When you look at me
that way
