Name the song the line is from Part II

That song is stuck in my head tonight, Phil. It’s “Moonlighting” by Al Jarreau (sp?). I love that trumpet solo.

Try this:

She was a girl in a million, my friend
I should have known she would win in the end

That's I'm A Loser, by the Beatles.

More 60s:

Give me one kiss and I'll be happy
Just, just to be with you
Give me, give me, a chance to be near you

The next line is "Because, because I love you." Not sure if that's the title, though.

New lyrics (if I'm right on that one) --

"Mama tried to stop me short of stealing,
I guess that's why I had to steal that car"

(Needless to say, it's country, lol)
just a shot in the dark as I don't know country...

Mama Tried- by Merle Haggard

If I'm right (and It's a long shot)

here's my new lyrics:

like a true natures child...

No, J-M, it's not "Mama Tried," but it has a similar theme.

More lines --

"Mama tried to stop me short of stealing,
I guess that's why I had to steal that car.
She told me not to smoke it, but I did
and it took me far away.
So I turned out to be ... (the title)"

The late singer was best known for "Take This Job & Shove It."

Johnny Paycheck songs were popular jukebox selections at some of the bars I used to visit. Odds are that I heard this song somewhere along the way.

I'm thinking that if I'd had just one or two fewer beers back then, I might even remember the song today.

first work on not forgetting your name...
I guess nobody knows this song but me, lol. It's called "The Only Hell My Mama Ever Raised."

Here's an old (non-country) classic --

"Give me just a plot of,
Not a lot of land, and ..."
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-ak-la-homa ....?!???
No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o! (Although you had the right lyrics guy)

"I'd feel so rich in a hut for two;
Two rooms and kitchen, I'm sure would do;
Give me just a plot of,
Not a lot of land, and ..."

Written by Rodgers and Hart
Sung by Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Frank Sinatra, etc, etc, ...
