Name the song the line is from Part II

Good Morning All,

I’m sure that Sue was right. So, I’ll step in with this:

All the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow

I think that's Moondance, by Van Morrison. I hear it on the radio quite often. I imagine it was popular in the dance clubs, right Cyn?

This one was first recorded in 1963, and was covered by several artists over the years. The most popular version made it to #1 on the US charts in 1975:

I learned my lesson, it left a scar
Now I see how you really are

Sorry Jim,

I never heard “Moondance” in a dance club. By the time I started going to dance clubs “Moondance” was pretty old. Even “Disco” was barely breathing by then.
Anyway yours is “You’re no good” by Betty Everett, and later by Linda Ronstadt.

Here’s one from 1963 and again in 1986:

Now come on baby
Now get into your slide
Just ride ride, ride
Little pony, ride!

That's Harlem Shuffle. I remember the Rolling Stones version from the 80s, but I'm pretty sure it was a cover. I don't know who did the song first, or when.

Mid-80s:

You see a lot more meanness in the city
It's the kind that eats you up inside

A few more lines before logging off for the evening:

You see a lot more meanness in the city
It's the kind that eats you up inside
Hard to come away with anything that feels like dignity
Hard to get home with any pride

More lines and a hint or two:

You see a lot more meanness in the city
It's the kind that eats you up inside
Hard to come away with anything that feels like dignity
Hard to get home with any pride

These days a man makes you somethin'
And you never see his face
But there is no hiding place

This artist launched a successful solo career after the 70s supergroup of which he was a member broke up in 1980. They reunited in 1994.

The song is from 1985. It's named after a real restaurant located at 7439 W. Sunset Blvd., about a mile and a half west of Vine, in West Hollywood, CA. It's next to a big Guitar Center store, and it's popular with tourists because it's frequented by celebrity musicians. Jan and Dean and the guy in the Jag zoomed right past it on their way to Dead Man's Curve in 1964.

Those of you familiar with Google Maps and/or Google Earth should be able to find it with no problem.

Sorry Jim

I googled it. I simply don’t recognize the words. But, I do recognize the music. I’m out.

It's an 80s song that Cyndee doesn't recognize...hmmm. This one's probably in trouble.

I'll give it a little more time, but give it up a little later if no one gets it.

OK, it's time to give up on that one. It was Sunset Grill, by Don Henley.

Let's try this one, from 1979:

Well I was born in the sign of water
And it's there that I feel my best
The albatross and the whales they are my brothers
