Name the song the line is from Part II

Could be Perry or Dean - Arrivederci
Here is Liverpool '60's (Well - I gotta stretch you sometimes )

Let her go ahead, take his love instead
And one day she will see

Two thoughts here.....

Why should she be any different...................

and ...............Mother knows best
The name of the song was "Arrividerci, Roma." Dean Martin was one of the people who sang it.

OK, now lemme get this straight, Phillip. You’re saying that you recently had two thoughts that occurred more or less simultaneously??!!??

I am just stunned by the progress you’re making.

My altime favorite song!!!
The Searchers- NEEDLES AND PIN(SA)

thanks Tony!

another Brit:

I would've liked to known you but I was just a kid...
Hi All,

That be “Candle in the wind” by Elton John, before he was a “Sir” back in 1973.

I’m going back to Detroit here:

And I don't want much
All I want from you is for you to be true to me

Now Jim...your post and my reply took place almost 11 hours apart. my first thought, which I wrote down in crayon, was followed by a severe headache from the strain.
The second thought came sometime much later...I think.

and no, I don't know Cyndee's song.
I didn't think that there was anyone else in the whole wide world who writes down thoughts in crayon, Phil.

No self-respecting Detroiter would not know Cyndee's lyrics. I'll Be Doggone, by Marvin Gaye.

I lived in New Jersey for a while, too:

Sprung from cages out on Highway 9
Chrome-wheeled, fuel-injected
And steppin' out over the line

sounds like standard Barry Manilow but I'll say Bruce Springsteen Born to Runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

you give back your ring to me and i will set you free
