I don't celebrate some nimrod meting out a death sentence for stealing something worth $400. I don't whack off in joy after reading about an ordinary citizen acting as judge, jury, and executioner.
I realize that such stories make your and Millerscum's panties wet. But then, you're horrible people.

Yes, and you and other scum think Trump is beautiful. You also think that a society where everyone is waving guns and we don't need police or the courts because ordinary citizens just execute SUSPECTED criminals on the spot is...some kind of Utopia.
Now, that's...ugly.

And a vital part of human civilization is that those consequences are meted out by established authority, NOT individuals.
Such individuals will never be objective or aware of the laws involved. They will act quickly and emotionally. And...something not even considered amid all this rhetoric...what if the gun-toting vigilante is completely wrong about what he thinks is happening? Can he say "oops, sorry" and un-kill the guy?
We defer life-and-death decisions to law enforcement and the courts. You may feel that someone's entitled to kill someone who, say, murders his wife. But civilization means you can't do that, even though many would approve.
I think it follows that you're also not entitled to kill someone who steals your muffler. Even if Midas doubles its prices.

Huh???
Actions have consequences. Sass the boss, a demotion or firing perhaps. Run a red light, get a ticket or smash somebody's car...consequences.
That's all. Who said anything about killing anybody? But that catalytic converter thief? Clearly his decision to steal someone's property resulted in consequences.
That's all.
Sheesh.

I guess you don't get what I'm saying. The story was on Fox News (big red flag there!) and reported gleefully by our resident asshole, as if it was something to celebrate.
All I know is, if I freak out and run over and kill someone, I'm both criminally and civilly liable. As I should be! The story isn't clear on whether she killed the guy to defend her precious catalytic converter or something else was going on.
At any rate, I call BS on the story. You can't cut two pieces of exhaust pipe with a hacksaw unless you have about fifteen minutes AND room to maneuver. You need an acetylene torch and an auto lift to do it even sort of quickly.
Plus, there's no market, even an illegitimate one, for a converter that's been hacked off another car. The fittings and pipes at each end would remain; plus, there would be no way to tell if the converter is any good. They have salvage value in the metal used as the catalyst, but that isn't all that much.
Who knows why the guy was under her car--he might have been a nefarious nogoodnik up to some form of malfeasance, especially if he was black (you know how THAR ALL CRINIMALS), but that didn't grant the driver a license to kill him.
No, it didn't. Sorry.
And as far as "consequences" are concerned--I don't want to live in a society so well-armed and paranoid that I can be shot or run over for appearing to touch someone's property with evil intent. I don't trust Goober McGun to make those kinds of decisions rationally.
