Anyone else here own some TSLA?

I haven't been tracking the price lately. Anyone care to fill me in?

I don't own any of the stock. The stock price has fallen right at $100 during the last 6 months; over $21 the past 5 days; $12 drop today alone, currently at slightly over $137 per share. What's your point/s?

I'm not a Musk-hater the way alot of lefties are.     But I'd be pretty pissed at him if I were a TSLA shareholder.

I dont take any personal umbrage to his criticisms of "woke liberals" or whatever he wants to call it.  But when you look at the demographics of the people who buys his cars - they are the same people he likes to insult.

I'm not the kind of person who boycotts a company because their ceo hurts my feelings - but there is definitely some subset of people that do.    And he is in the process of throwing gasoline on their exodus from their automobile orders.  Pun intended.

Brilliant inventor - terrible businessman.

He would keep his yap shut if he had any sense. But he apparently can't resist.

My take is he is a huckster like Trump.  Most of his wealth is based on the value of his name and the underserved reputation of success.

Taking a look at his record:

1. Fell into an Emerald mine.

2. Co-founder of a payment processing company that later became Pay Pal. He was fired as CEO for incompetence. Since he was still a large stockholder, he made a boatload of money when the company was sold because the management that replaced him turned the company around.

3. Early investor in Tesla. He pushed the inventors and founders out of the company.

He is an expert in taking credit for other people's successes.

David, you forgot to post a definition of "gratuitous," "pointless," or "vindictive," any of which would have helped us understand the reason for your post.

That term assumes that Mark is jealous of Musk. Why would Mark be jealous of someone who is threatening Trump's record for the most money ever lost by a single individual?

I would respectfully disagree with that summary.

He single handedly rolled out the giga-factory and large scale development of TSLA's cars.   Analysts questioned his ability to do that for years and he proved them wrong.    The other car companies are now scrambling to follow that same footprint.

He has a long record of bringing ideas to market.  How many great ideas have you read about that never made it out of the laboratory?   Thats not an issue with Musk.     He's rolled out marketable products for people to go to space, EV cars, underground tunnel transportation, solar energy, and peer-to-peer payments.     Maybe he didnt write every bit of code...so what?   ..neither did Steve Jobs.

Musk is a legitimate visionary and builder.   He's also kindof a prick.   Its possible to be both.
