Are You Conservatives Taking Your Hydroxychloroquine?

Years ago I was an OR nurse in a children's hospital.  At the start of a case the surgeon said to the anesthesiologist, "Be sure to go easy with this one.  This [I forget the name of that gas] is poison, you know."  She replied "Everything I give is poison."  That stuck with me.  Get over it.

Mister, please disregard all posts of mine.  Don't read them.  You don't have the minimum critical thinking skills I would expect of someone who otherwise would "get" things I say.  Even Kevin is a notch above you in understanding what I am trying to get across.   Not agreeing necessarily (almost never), but comprehending.

I take a number of prescription medications.  Everybody does.  They are all "poison."  Chemotherapy drugs are poison.  Antibiotics are poison.  Multivitamins are poison (they all have preservatives as well as the active ingredient to treat the condition).  But they have beneficial effects on the majority of people who take them as prescribed.  If not, they either don't work or cause side effects, or worse, are allergenic.

Gee Candy, you have a great grasp of the obvious. Yeah, most any medicine can be poisonous depending upon multiple factors. I think I learned that in eighth-grade science.

But using that as a reason to argue that people might be okay to take medical advice from Trump or Jenny McCarthy or Dr. Oz or Andrew Wakefield is just stupid.

You are obviously a political partisan who pretends to play it down the middle. And stupid, arrogant, and phony is no way to go through life.

ms. selfie says -  "And stupid, arrogant, and phony is no way to go through life." ---- Possibly YOU should re read and reflect back how that applies to you...

Thank you very much.

Does anyone really believe that trump is taking this drug?

After all, he IS a habitual liar.

18,000+ since he became president* and counting....

Well, yeah, Todd, while I would be thrilled if he shoved 100,000 milligrams of the stuff up his nose on a daily basis, I doubt very much that he's actually taken a single dose if it, or ever intends to.

Tens of thousands of the faithful, though, are turning tricks so they can afford to buy Trump's wonder drug.

The results of another study came out this morning.

"Our data has very convincingly shown that across the world in a real-world population that this drug combination, whichever way you slice it or dice it, does not show any evidence of benefit, and in fact, is immutably showing a signal of grave harm," he said.

For the new study, researchers analyzed data from more than 96,000 patients with confirmed Covid-19 from 671 hospitals on six continents. All were hospitalized from late December to mid-April, and had died or been discharged by April 21. Just under 15,000 patients were treated with hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine, or one of those drugs combined with an antibiotic.

All four of those treatments were linked with a higher risk of dying in the hospital. About one in 11 patients in the control group -- who got none of the drugs -- died in the hospital. About one in six patients treated with chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine alone died in the hospital. About one in five treated with chloroquine and an antibiotic died and almost one in four treated with hydroxychloroquine and an antibiotic died.

Researchers also found that serious heart arrhythmias were more common among patients receiving any of the four treatments. The largest increase was among the group treated with hydroxychloroquine and an antibiotic; 8% of those patients developed a heart arrhythmia, compared with 0.3% of patients in the control group.

Dr. Trump quacks on and Candy still supports him.

You know snake venom has also been used to produce blood pressure medicine. So if a Republican I support says to play with the rattlesnake, maybe there's something to it!

That was my Candy imitation.

But Mark, don't you realize that the Orange Orangutan is smarter than all the world's doctors and researchers???

It's horrible to contemplate, but true nonetheless, that tens of millions of Americans think that that evil, stupid motherfucker knows what he's talking about. That includes our resident Trumptards.

Giving people the Trump wonder drug violates the Hippocratic oath. Taking it voluntarily is Darwinian.
