To be fair, most of the electorate didnt bother to educate themselves on the facts surrounding this "controversy" - they were content to let political adds teach them the story. Youngkin was happy to stoke up the Jan 6 nazis to score a victory.
My kids are now adults. When they were young, I did not want them taught that they are evil because they are white. I did not want them taught that they owe a group of people something because of the color of their skin.

But here's the standard way of looking at race relations in your cesspool part of the world. You folks think that treating people of color as equals is fundamentally wrong. You think that Blacks, Hispanics, etc. are subhuman and shouldn't be allowed the freedoms that good Christian White people are entitled to. And that is translated into "we don't owe them (^&%^$#) anything."
Anyone who thinks or says that it isn't harder to be a Black or Hispanic person in this country than it is to be a White person is talking out of their ass.

Kevin, you and most Liberals demand that blacks be treated differently. It is more difficult in some ways for a black man. A black man focusing on this is certain not to succeed. Liberals who urge this help create more failure.

Is that what a book about Slavery does? Pretty sure the author didnt write anything about your kids.
Your narrative is the one used by Youngkin in his campaign (successfully) .... but all Virginia did was assign a Prize-winning, biographical book of an actual person living through a very real chapter of American History. And it was done in an elective, AP class that was not required to get a diploma.
But the Youngkin campaign said that was teaching white kids to feel guilty about being White. Is that how you feel ?

Psychopaths have no shame - expecting kevin to "be ashamed" is not a part of who he is or ever was.
I'm not ashamed to have a reasonable perspective on things such as acknowledging that racism exists and that Critical Race Theory is a valid way of looking at society.
