Beginning of the end of America's nightmare

Looking at the exit polling, what got him elected was his appeal to white grievance over education. It seems white parents don't want their kids to be taught about slavery and the civil rights movement because it might hurt their sensitive feelings. It is sad but true. That is just where we are as a country. Like I said more than once we are on a path to ditch a democratic republic system of government for one of authoritarian fascism.

And the truly sad thing abouit it is the fact that it was all fabricated.

There is no critical race theory being taught in Virginia schools nor is it even being proposed.  (Not that such a program would even bad.   )   But Republicans successfully brainwashed the electotate into stopping a boogeyman that doesnt exist.

People deserve the government they vote for.    All Youngkin has to offer is to end something that was never started.      Congratulations.

I'm a white voter and I wanted my kids to be taught about slavery.  In my town conservative town, kids are taught about slavery.  That's not the rub, however.  The "woke" folks want to teach kids what they should think, while I believe that kids should instead be taught how to think.

What to think should be left to parents.

Do you think the pulitzer prize winning novel  "Beloved" which tells the true story of an escaped  slave is some  left-wing indoctrination tool thats not historically accurate?

Thats what the Proud Boys wing of Virgina Republicans think....and thats what sparked the education debate in Virginia.

To be fair, most of the electorate didnt bother to educate themselves on the facts surrounding this "controversy" - they were content to let political adds teach them the story.     Youngkin was happy to stoke up the Jan 6 nazis to score a victory.

You can bet that the CRT lying crap will not ever be taught in Virginia. Other states will follow.

Critical Race Theory is an obscure academic concept. It should be taught, along with a comprehensive review of all other related concepts and theories. That way, students can make up their own minds. The RepubliQ has turned it into a dog whistle, though, even though not one in a hundred conservitards can even say what it is. Stalker certainly can't, though he sits up and barks at it when his RepubliQ masters tell him to.

Forbidding the teaching of concepts that don't align with the political views of rulers is very...how shall we put it, for Stalker's sake...very commie.

Critical race theory should not be taught.  Such topics should be left up to parents.

Oklahoma banned CRT in public schools last legislative session.  My wife retired early from teaching over the BS they were forced to spread to the kids.  But, I got me off my butt to retire early too.

CRT is two things- 1) as another wedge driven between sane Americans and idiotic socialist liberals and - 2) the brain washing tool used to indoctrinate children to hate others because of their skin color, in other words, a form of true racism. This "theory" should be correctly named "Crap".

Of course, CRT has never been taught in Oklahoma public schools, so that was a solution in search of a problem, wasn't it?

And welcome to the forum.

That was a solution to head off the problem of CRT ever being taught in Oklahoma.
