According to govt stats, teachers work 6.5 hours ( including lunch & prep time) per day & 180 days for a total of 1,170 hours per year. Other people work 8 hours & 235 days per year for 1,880 hours. Average teacher salary is $60k per year. That doesn't include stipends for coaching, supervising clubs & other duties. Teachers also get a pension & lifetime medical insurance. They also get generous sick time & depending on the union get paid for unused sick time when they retire.
Teachers like to pretend, but they have a great deal.
Stupid Tommie-poo, teachers aren't paid for the time they spend at home grading papers. They aren't paid for the time they spend at home, crafting detailed lesson plans--which are mandatory, by the way. They aren't paid for the time they spend in parent-teacher conferences, which happen outside of school hours.
Together, all those tasks consume 20-25 hours a week--for no additional pay. The "gov't stats" refer to time actually spent on school premises, which is only a portion of the actual total work hours.
Tommie-poo, you really shouldn't try to expound on subjects you know nothing about, especially with your already pitifully limited intellect. We teachers know that our efforts are often unappreciated and VERY often undervalued. You're just bleating your all-too-common ignorance when you say things like this.
America is an anti-intellectual nation, as shown by the actions of the great unwashed 75 million. Trump loves the uneducated, so naturally, Trumpers despise teachers. The more work we do, the fewer future Trumpers. And on some dim level of comprehension, the deplorables (which includes you, stupid Tommie-poo) know this.
