We aren't into golf but we both like things like jet skis, hiking, clubbing, good food and heavy drinking. Destination recommendations as well as places to stay would be appreciated.
While I've been to Acapulco three times, I've not been there for 35 years. It's not what it used to be. I've been to Cabo once, and that was 21 years ago, but from what I hear it might be a fit for you.
I've been going to Isla Mujeres for the past 17 years. It's a 5 mile long X 1/3 mile wide island located just off of the coast of Cancun. Understand that while this place doesn't have what one might call a "clubbing" atmosphere, there is plenty of drinking. I participate in this activity very heartily. There are really no "clubs", but instead lots of cantinas and restaurants that serve alcohol. Very few thumping bass, late night joints, but a ton of places serving booze. Plenty of live music, but while some is very good, most of the music talent is mediocre.
There is great great great food on the island, and far from only Mexican food. Food from all over the world will be found. The food is one of the things that makes this place a gem.
The beach that you want to stay on is Playa Norte. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll suggest some good options to stay, depending on your budget. Eating and drinking on the island is very reasonable, and Playa Norte is stunningly beautiful.
Another thing that you should know is that there is no zoning on this island. You will find fancy hotels next to shacks. You will find multi-million dollars homes next to another shack with chickens. Don't confuse these poor folks with being unhappy an angry, however. They live simple, yet happy lives with no animosity to visting tourists. If this makes you uncomfortable, then maybe an all inclusive might better suit you. There are no large all inclusive joints on Isla, however.
Let me know if you want more info. I know that island quite well.
Oh, Mark, you are correct. Kevin is once again making shit up.
