"Took it in the shorts." Do you remember in 2018 when Trump released Abdul Ghani Baradar, one of the leaders of the Taliban, along with about 5,000 Taliban fighters in exchange for...nobody.

I bet you maintained radio silence about that episode, didn't you Charles?

Can't recall that episode..for some reason. I'm running low on ginko biloba over here..supply chain issue I guess. Bound to be your fault, too.

Perhaps we could seize some Russian assets and use them to compensate Griner. After ten months of confinement, her career is probably over.

How liberal of an idea!

How so? Ronnie Raygun, the conservative's god, seized Iranian assets to compensate the American hostages taken by the Ayatollah.

Don't worry.  Any guy can still make $ playing women's BB.  Her career is not over by a long shot.

Charles, you're right that Griner was small beer compared to the massive criminality of the scumbag she was exchanged for. But I don't think in such situations, we can assign varying value to human beings, the way we do in baseball trades :) She's home safe and sound, which is all that matters.

I think American tourism to Russia may have been a wee bit affected. Who KNOWS what a tenth of a gram of something might be attached to your luggage.

What does this even mean? Nothing was planted in/on Griner's luggage. She pled guilty to bringing an illegal drug into Russia. Why would she need to be compensated for her confinement? She found out that an American basketball star, playing for a Russian team, isn't above the law. Maybe Griner should reimburse the US government for the costs involved with getting her released and home.

What it means is that now that Putin is puting Americans in prison for something minor, and he's pissed that we're helping Ukraine, Americans will think twice about visiting.

Unbelievable how the Right is so upset that an American was freed from Russia.

At least Biden didn't get a corpse back like TFG did with Otto Warmbier.

There's a massive amount of political gamesmanship ( and other forms of unknown bullshit) occurring behind these international prisoner swaps between the US and Russia. Putin is using Ukraine as leverage, likely. So, Whelan may never get out. Who knows?

Just send ginko biloba...soon..large quantities...and maybe some bayberry scented candles

Good God, you're stupid. I said "attached," not "planted." Your suitcase touches a lot of surfaces when you travel. It would be very easy to have a speck--less than a gram--of "contraband" wind up in/on your suitcase. And if that happens--nine years in a Russian prison!

Only idiot scum like you think that Griner did anything wrong

But then, your gang is the party of Putin.

"What does this even mean?" You're a Tucker Carlson love-slave!

Small wonder you're so fucking ignorant, given that you suck at that tit.
