Trump realizes--dimly--that the Lincoln Memorial was the site of many iconic civil rights moments, such as MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, and wants to keep that from happening again--because in his warped mind, civil rights are...wrong.
The iconic civil rights moment this time, therefore, might be the storming of the White House and the lynching of the Orange Orangutan. You stifle peaceful protests, you often get violent protests as a result. Trump's stormtroopers are heavily outnumbered by the people, who will only take so much.
Bunker Boy is hiding because he's scared, and he should be. But all he has to do is show one tiny bit of leadership. I've given up any hope that he'll do that, though. He is literally incapable of not being an asshole.
