"Casinos for Sale ! Casinos for Sale ! Come get yourself a casino !"

Sheldon Adelson’s Las Vegas Sands Corp. is exploring the sale of its casinos in Las Vegas, according to people with knowledge of the matter, a move that would leave the mogul focused on Asia and mark his exit, for now, from the U.S. gambling industry.

The world’s largest casino company, Sands is working with an adviser to solicit interest for the Venetian Resort Las Vegas, the Palazzo and the Sands Expo Convention Center, which together may fetch $6 billion or more, said the people, who asked to not be identified because the talks are private. The properties are all connected along the city’s famous strip

No sane company would buy those properties, except perhaps at fire-sale prices. Vegas has begun a years-long decline, and won't be back to "normal" for a decade.

I will drop Mr. Adelson a line and offer him twenty bucks for all three properties. I will NOT charge resort fees, parking will be free, blackjacks will pay 3:2, and there will be lots of fullpay video poker and a generous slot club. Table minimums will be $5. Rooms will be $49 on weekdays and $69 on weekends!

And I'll make more money than Adelson ever did!

Can you still call your company "Las Vegas Sands" if you have no presence in Las Vegas?

The commentary was pretty alarming from the execs.   The casinos cant make money without conventions...and they dont see conventions coming back any time soon.    And that begs the question - who is ponying up 6 billion dollars to buy money-losing casinos ?       I guess the buyer has a more optimistic perspective.

Isn't it sad that kevin is constantly rooting for American businesses to fail.

With your rules, the only reason you make any money would be because you bought the place for 20 bucks. Otherwise, you lose your shirt.  Shows that you don't have much experience in running a business.

IMHO this is really bad news for Vegas as we know it.  Kevin may get his wish for a massive failure.

Assuming your comments were made in jest, your casino would become a shit show. Be overtaken by the homeless and rooms filled with the most undesirables. But you could pack a lot of cots into the convention area at $5 per night.

I described exactly how Boyd, Stations, AZ Charlie's, and many other Vegas casinos started from scratch and were wildly successful in the 1990s and 2000s.

You must not know anything about the casino industry or its history.

It's it sad that Tom has no reading comprehension, despite all the years he spent struggling to get out of third grade?
