CNN has pounced on Bob Woodward's book with a barrage of commentators and reporters slamming Trump. Sounds like it's really bad for Trump. Wife asked me "Why don't you go to FOX to get their perspective". I take medication for hypertension. I cannot risk listening to FOX with the real danger of having a huge spike in my BP. Please, could some one on this board, post what FOX is reporting on this breaking news bombshell.
Woodward's book is packed with first hand accounts from Trump's own hand-picked inner circle confessing how incompetent, impulsive, and dangerous this man is. Thats in addition to Trump's own confession that he purposefully played down the seriousness of COVID-19 for political reasons.
I think you can guess how FOX News is handling it.

It wasn’t until a few moments before White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was set to take the podium that they finally acknowledged the bombshell story.
“We think one of the things that could come up in this press briefing is about a book written by Bob Woodward,” host Melissa Francis warned viewers just before the 1 p.m. hour. She laid out the details about Trump’s attempts to downplay the virus even though he knew how “deadly” it was in February. At the same time, she stressed that no one at Fox had heard the recordings and the show did not play the tapes for viewers like other networks had already done by that point.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who happened to be on Fox’s Outnumbered to promote her new book, struggled to defend the president by attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and praising his partial ban on travel from China.
Co-host and unofficial Trump adviser Pete Hegseth, meanwhile, characterized the story as a “distraction” from the left “so that we don’t talk about the economic recovery, so that we don’t talk about the lawlessness in Democrat-run cities.”
He added, “This is yet another trash Trump book” before claiming that the president was merely acting as a “cheerleader” for the United States.

What amazes me is that none our resident conservatives have weighed in. For more than half of a year, they defended Trump's COVID-19 inaction by saying how could have known and it is the Chinese Government's fault because they lied. Now there are audio tapes that show Trump not only knew but actually understood how bad it was from the beginning.
If Trump hadn't out and out lied and actually instituted social distancing, contact tracing and encouraged mask-wearing at the beginning, we would not have 200k dead Americans and a pandemic with no end in sight.
I am sure conservatives here and everywhere will soon invent entirely new reasons as to why Trump is not responsible for his actions or lack of actions regarding COVID-19.
I never watch CNN or Fox News, but today as you asked I'm watching Bill Hemmer Reports. Here is what I hear so far:
1. Bob Woodward says in the book that Trump downplayed the seriousness of the pandemic.
2. Tapes of their conversation have Trump telling Woodward in Feb. and March that the virus is a very bad one, will get worse, will cause many deaths. Trump said "It goes through the air, Bob. It isn't one you can get just by touching something, because this one goes through the air."
3. THE BIG ONE that is getting the attention: Trump said he knows he downplayed the seriousness of the pandemic in speaking to the public because he didn't want to alarm the public; he thinks a President should not alarm the public.
The Fox commentators didn't spend a lot of time on it, went on to a Whistleblower story and the campaign.
They just now had a sound bite from Fauci, who said he doesn't think Trump downplayed the virus.
There will be much more. I've got to get back to Dr. Phil. Take it easy.

Carl Bernstein gives the history of Barry Goldwater going to Nixon and telling him he has to resign. He then asks the question, what are Mcconnell and Macarthy and other GOP leaders going to say? He says this is worse then Nixon's shenanigans. What are the chances of GOP leadership telling Trump to resign? If he does resign will Pence grant blanket pardon to Trump? Should he resign?

I just caught Senator (R) John Kennedy, Lousiana, on CNN defending the President. Now in all fairness he did say he has not seen the transcript. He did ask the commentator If she was talking about the Bob Woodward book. He might have been caught off guard. He explained that this is just another "Gotcha Book"and they come out quite frequent. Going on, his personal experience with the president and his Covid response to the state of Lousiana was good. Concluding with the President's actions speak louder than his words.
My question is, Are we being played by CNN? Is this not as big of deal as CNN is making it out to be?
Big deal? People have been bitching about Trump's Covid-speak since the pandemic started. Surely that can't be the biggest thing to come out of that book.
Don't they (both sides) usually save up dirt for right before an election? Of course!
You don't need to rely on CNN or Fox. You can read - and hear - Trump's own words. It's all out there.
Trump's excuse for lying was he didn't want to panic everyone.
But he loves panicking everyone over Muslims. Or China. Or Mexican caravans. Or our cities, which are all burning according to him. Or what's going to happen to our suburbs/country is Biden is elected. His whole agenda is panic.
