You suggested that Trump follow Obama's moves, or his model. What did Obama do that was great that Trump isn't doing. Trump still has 4 months to call it an emergency, if he's following the Obama moves that you so adore.
You got that six-month time period from a right-wing propaganda website, so quit referring to it as if it was factual.
Obama created a pandemic response team specifically to deal with crises like the present one. Trump destroyed it and took away its funding. So that's one thing that Obama did that "was so great" and Trump has fucked up. He could have left it alone, and we could have responded to the coronavirus much more quickly and effectively. But noooooo---he destroyed the program for no better reason than it was something that Obama created.
What you don't realize (or are deliberately ignoring) is that Ebola, unlike coronavirus, can only be transmitted by direct contact with an infected person's bodily fluids or waste. Also, unlike coronavirus, there are very few asymptomatic cases, meaning that when someone is infected, they know it. This means that containment strategies are and should be much different.
President Obama's response was to deploy 3,000 service members, along with 10,000 civilian workers, to West Africa to help treat and contain the disease. He banned flights to and from infected areas. Unlike Trump, he was successful in containing the outbreak--there were two deaths from Ebola during 2014 in the US.
I'm going to stop trying to explain to you what Obama did, because as I said, what he did or didn't do doesn't have anything to do with Trump's incompetence. Quit using the stupid false equivalence Trump argument.
