A man in Phoenix has died after ingesting chloroquine phosphate, a chemical recently touted by Trump as showing great promise in treating the virus. It is actually used primarily to clean fish tanks.

His wife is in critical condition. It is not known if she ingested the chemical as well.

This is a case where listening to Trump was literally fatal. Trump bears responsibility for this idiot's death. When leaders lie, that has real consequences.

Now, our Trumpers are certain to leap to the Orange Liar's defense, but the fact remains---Trump killed this man. He was in his 60s, so as dumb as he was, he must have been an extraordinarily lucky man to live that long. But he couldn't survive Trump.

Chloroquine is used to prevent or treat malaria caused by mosquito bites in countries where malaria is common. Malaria parasites can enter the body through these mosquito bites, and then live in body tissues such as red blood cells or the liver. This medication is used to kill the malaria parasites living inside red blood cells. Chloroquine is also used to treat infection caused by a different type of parasite (ameba) by killing the ameba.

Malaria is a bacterium, not a virus. Medications or other substances that kill bacteria are ineffective against viruses.

That's pretty basic medical science. But if you believe Trump rather than science, I think you should buy a gallon of the stuff and chug it. Don't just talk the talk--show your faith!

The whole story (on HLN today, interview with the wife).  The couple saw that their fish food label had ingredients similar to, but not the same, as Chloroquine.  They thought it might protect them and took some by mouth.  It was not intended for human consumption.  

Don't you ever get tired of being wrong?  This post is so full of fail.  First Malaria is a parasite not a bacterium.  Second, there is mounting evidence that this anti-malerial drug chloroquine can have profound effects on viruses.  Here is an early study that concludes:

"In conclusion, we demonstrate here that chloroquine shows strong in vitro and in vivo antiviral activities against HCoV-OC43. Moreover, treatment with daily doses of chloroquine has a long-lasting protective effect against lethal coronavirus OC43 infection in newborn mice."

The coronavirus is at the root of a pandemic. People like Kevin Lewis are at the root of a dempanic, a panic caused by the spreading of lies by democrats.
