Cuomo had his state totally unprepared! Do not lay this at the feet of the federal government!

Okay, let's get real specific:

A couple of months ago President Trump's administration could have accepted test formulations, first from the WHO and then from South Korea. Governor Cuomo didn't have the power to do that.

President Trump could have invoked the Defense Production Act to require manufacturers to switch production to protective gear, ventilators, and test kits. Governor Cuomo didn't have the power to do that.

A few days ago over 200,000,000 masks were EXPORTED from the US. President Trump could have stopped that, Governor Cuomo couldn't.

President Trump still hasn't issued a national stay-at-home order. Governor Cuomo has done so for New York.

States are having to bid against each other for protective gear, in some cases paying 15x the usual price. President Trump could fix that, Governor Cuomo can't.

President Trump minimized the contagion and severity of the virus several times. And our country is paying the price.

I only read Mrpicture's first paragraph.  At that point the Liberal bias became obvious.  Mrpicture, do you know when the CDC first began to send out test kits?  Oh and don't fall for the lies that the CDC budget was cut, and that's the reason that the CDC made a mistake.  I've since glanced further down Mrpicture's list and ask, has he even considered why Trump might allow exports for critical stuff?  If we don't send any critical stuff out, how much critical stuff will be shpped in?  A policy of shipping nothing out is stupid and short sighted.

More importantly he could have spent the first month of the crisis acknowledging that it existed instead of calling it a liberal witch hunt.

In the present, we dont have a coherant Federal response.   Nobody knows who is in charge.  Pence?  Kushner?  Navarro?   Trump swaps managers in and out more than Steinbrenner - and the states dont know who to coordinate with.

But you are seeing the right's playbook on this board:   They US Federal government has no role to play in pandemic preparedness or response.   Its every governor for and state for themselves which they believe will benefit their politics because its been blue states that have been hit the hardest thus far.    Florida and Georgia are about to blow up in a big way - especially since Georiga's mouthbreathing governor just put a stay at home order this week.  SO its time to look for a new scapegoat to defend the president who spent yesterday's press conference bragging about his ratings.

So when your LEADER makes enemies of our trading partners by threatening them, calling them sh*thole countries and by establishing high tariffs, you guys are cool with that.

But when your LEADER allows exports of vitally needed medical equipment so we can maintain good foreign relations, resulting in American deaths, you guys are cool with that.
