The deadly cost of Trump

That guy must not have gotten laid in quite a while.

Boiler, Pecker, and sometimes Stalker use insults like "you're a girl" quite often. I would imagine that when women don't want to get near you, that leads to misogyny and sexism.

These people fit the mold so perfectly. Racist, sexist, misogynist, bigoted, fascism-loving, anti-democracy, scared, deteriorating old Trumper white men.

the most current information I can find anywhere is through May. We should at least have quarterly data though october.  Nov, and Dec could be way higher, but what is the current data.  This should not be political, every agency files quarterly reports

Re: "Boiler, Pecker, and sometimes Stalker"

I rarely look at the Kitchen Sink, but I was aware in the months leading up to the election that you were in, uh, "frequent discussion" with the persons with those nicknames that you minted for them.

I don't remember the names with which they actually posted, and I'm not motivated enough to spend much time researching this to see what, if anything, they've had to say post-election, so I'll ask you for the Cliff Notes version of what's been happening here vis a vis Trump losing.

I did take a quick, partial look at "How Many Of You Trumpets Really Believe Trump Won?" that had the most posts, 35 replies. Most posts seemed to be by you with the rest by others with similar views to yours. I saw only one post by someone who claimed the election was rigged, but I didn't wade too deeply into the multi-page thread.

Have the Trumpsters slunk away in embarrassment and shame, or have I just missed their posts? If they're still here, has the wind gone out of their sails, or are they still pumped with the possibility of Flynn's (and maybe Trump's) plan for martial law?

TIA for a reply.

Their activities wax and wane according to how politically charged the atmosphere, nationally and on this forum, happens to be. They yell louder when things are more tense, and in particular, when the orange object of their adoration has said or done something particularly stupid or cruel--then they feel they have to rush to his defense.

As far as screaming that the election was rigged blah blah, only Stalker (David Miller; I call him that because he's threatened to meet several posters, myself included, in Vegas and kill them) has really been beating that drum. The rest of the bunch have stayed largely silent.

Each of them have different, shall we say, themes. Stalker LUVVVS to post random Facebook crap and calls everyone who reacts to it a liar. In fact, he calles everyone a liar, period. Boiler (Boilerman) has this peculiar and anachronistic mindset that's reminiscent of Archie Bunker. His reaction to the pandemic was that everyone should get sick as quickly as possible. He smokes in public and doesn't wear a mask. Pecker (rdwoodpecker) seems smarter than either of them, but his anger gets in the way of his intellect. Charles, who we haven't, thank God, seen much of lately, is just...dumb as a box of rocks, aside from being a rabid Trumper. But as I said, only Stalker has really screamed the Tucker Carlson message, and even then, not very often.

As to why that is...well, I don't think they've slunk away in shame. They have none. I think it's more prosaic--we know Boiler is down in Mexico infecting everyone, and I think Stalker may be in Vegas--otherwise, as surely as the night doth follow the day, we'd be hearing from them. They might be a little bit deflated, as you say, but they really have nothing to worry about, given that the Republicans will almost certainly retain control of the Senate and keep Biden from enacting his radical liberal far-left Deep State SOOOOOOCIALST commie pinko Green New Deal baby-eating take away our guns agenda.

You know, I would like to think that our nation's Trumpers are just going to slink away, sulking, and wait for a new fascist leader to surface, but all indications are that if anything, the opposite is true. The stench from Trump will persist long after he's gone, just like that cheese that was in the back of the fridge for a year until you finally threw it out. And of course, Trumpism was a symptom of a mental disease (I call it the moronavirus), not the disease itself, and over 70 million people still have an incurable case of it.

I must once again correct Kevin's assumptions about my mask wearing habits.  I have explained many times that I wear a mask at all stores, and while walking in open air locations where others are nearby.  While cruising in my golf cart during my Mexico trip, I did not wear a mask as I was not near others.  I do not wear a mask while visiting eating and drinking establishments and nor did others.  It's possible that my super human strengths have allowed me to become infected with Covid without experiencing any symptions.  After all, I am an amazing dude.  I suspect, however, that I have never been infected with Covid.

Mexico was warm and wonderful, and all employees who served us were happy that tourists were returning to Isla Mujeres.  All eating and drinking establishements on the island are more open air and safe than the famous French Laundry restaurant where California Governor Gaven Newsom and his large group enjoyed a multi course meal several weeks ago.  It has been reported that these two dozen Liberals consumed some $16,000 in wine alone............all while not wearing masks.  The horror!

So you still haven't learned to spell "liberals"?

Not wearing a mask in restaurants is dangerous and iresponsible, as restaurants are one of the most common sites of virus transmission. If you want to criticize Newsom's party for doing that because they're liberals, while saying that it's all right for YOU to do that because you're a conservative--well, kinda hypocritical of you, isn't it?

You smoke in public, which transmits the virus. I very much doubt that you ever wear a mask, as you have railed many times against the "tyrrany" of orders to do so. And you may have been infected with Covid without ever knowing it, especially given your habits. That's why we should all wear masks whether or not we have symptoms.

But hey, why should YOU wear a mask? That would be a considerate thing to do, and would go against the grain. It would also contradict the recommendations of Dear Leader, your hero and master.

I tried wearing a mask in the last restaurant I patronized.  Sucking water through it wasn't too difficult.  Then my cocktail came.  The lemon drop martini lost a lot strained through the fabric and running down my chin.  Then came my appetizer, French onion soup.  I dipped my face down into the bowl and inhaled as best I could, got a bit of the taste of the broth...delicious...but the cheese clumped up on the outside of the mask.  I guess this looked unseemly, as by this time fellow diners were giving me ugly stares.  I sneaked a few bites of lobster around the mask and into my mouth.  Unfortunately the chewing action just made all the liquids 'squish' out the fabric and all over the place.  When I got up to leave I heard a round of applause from the other diners.  I'm pretty sure the server was relieved.

Didn't see anyone smoking.  Is there a restaurant in the US that still allows smoking?

Very funny, but the main reason restaurants are closed to indoor dining in the sane parts of the country is that it's well-nigh impossible to eat with a mask on. Thus, you get a superspreader event, with maskless people in close proximity.

I remember earlier this year, I was indoor dining and doing the wear-your-mask-except-when-actually-eating thing. I forgot I had it on and smashed a french fry into my face. The waitress tried not to laugh.

There are, unbelievably, still restaurants that allow smoking. Wyoming, Missouri, and most of the Deep, Dark, Dumb South still allow it. Twelve states total. A lot of that might have to do with the historic stranglehold the tobacco industry has had on government in many of those states.

And guess what! There's a direct correlation between lax smoking laws and mask noncompliance in those states! Yet another reason to never set foot in the shit part of our beloved country. Visit the South, and a maskless moron will breathe the virus on you, puff a cigarette in your face, and if you say anything, pull out his Second Amendment gun and shoot you, because they're all kind of touchy down there. Yahoo!

Kevin, I don't know which states are included in your (most of) twelve, but throughout my deep dark dumb southern state smoking is forbidden in restaurants and just about everywhere that is inside walls, e.g. stores, office buildings, government buildings.  And everywhere I go I never see anyone without a mask, including Walmart, all of them in my town.  But then, you've been to each and every one (restaurants, stores, buildings) in your twelve, right?  Who am I to say, I just live here.

I've read quite a few (dozens) of newspaper and magazine articles where people have observed masking behavior in Trump-red states, and the overwhelming consensus has been that mask compliance is much lower than in the rest of the country. One columnist--I forget who, this was months ago--observed that these people were living in an "alternate reality" wherein refusing to wear a mask was a badge of honor and people who did wear one were openly mocked.

We already know that Republicans wear masks much less and much less often than Democrats, so given the political leanings of these Trump states, that makes sense. Just because Trump is going away, that doesn't mean Trumpism is going anywhere--and Covid denial is still a fundamental tenet of that faith. As far as smoking prevalence and obedience to smoking regulations goes---there's nothing political about that, though the thirteen highest-prevalence states were, as of 2018, all in the Deep South or Midwest.

I have in fact been to all fifty states, most of them several times, but obviously, not during the pandemic. I don't know where you live, so I can't speak to what laws you may have and what the compliance rates may be. I just know that where the prevailing rhetoric is against masks and for smoking, I'm more likely to encounter people smoking and not wearing masks than elsewhere.
