Which one?
Which one?
Man, it sure will be quiet around here!
So, hell actually can freeze over? Teacher's pet expelled. Now, that is news.

"Efficient retreat?" You mean evacuating about 90,000 - so far - with zero US casualties? Yeah, I guess that's one way to put it.
But it was inefficient in one way. In Trump's treaty with the Taliban, he agreed to surrender by May 1, 2021. So I guess Biden was a bit late there.
What's the value of the equipment that Biden's leaving the bad guys? What about the intelligence we're leaving behind? I don't believe that arming terrorists should be considered efficient.
Mister, do you believe that we'll get out the Afghans who should truly be considered for asylum? I suspect that thousands of those who helped us will be slaughtered, which if it materializes is a travisty. When we decided on peace and left Viet Nam, millions were peacefully slaughtered while American Liberals celebrated in the streets.
Number of US troops in Afghanistan since 2014: less than 10k
Number of Afghan Army troops : 200K
The United States didn't make the decision to leave equipment behind. The Afghan army made the decision to surrender...including the billions of dollars of equipment US taxpayers spent to prop them up for 20 years.
If you believe the few thousand advisors we have are in a positon to militarily secure a country the size of Texas you obviously dont understand the geography...or are just trying to score tribal political points. My money is on the latter.
Regardless - the Afghan surrender just proves what a collasal waste the nation building exercise has been. We should have left after we killed Bin Laden.
So Biden had no contingency plan for this situation, and now he leaves the Taliban has nearly 300 military aircraft, 76,000 vehicles, 600,000 weapons, and the list goes on. Tens of billions in equipment.
Even nuts know that this is bad.
As I said before the responsibility is the Joint Chiefs. Before any major joint operation there is a lot of coordinated planning taking into consideration the views of the services as well as input from career state department representatives and the politicians. Sometimes months or even years. For the Joint Chiefs to have allowed this to be executed in such a haphazard manner means that they should be fired or resign.
What Marty said.
Just like we Americans cannot fathom the mind of a serial rapist/killer ("who does that?"), those in the ivory towers of the US don't seem able to fathom the mind of international terrorists despite having studied and knowing how blood thirsty they are. Their values apparently include killing anyone who isn't them, using "allah' or whatever 'god' they pretend they are doing what they do in the name of. What a farce.
So our American leaders operate from the Golden Rule, do unto others nicely and they will/hopefully follow our lead. Which of course is total BS, but they worry about facing criticism for playing tit for tat, i.e. come down on them, bomb the hell out of them. Face criticism from their party? The horror.
The on camera, in our face beheading of Daniel Pearl should have shown our 'leaders' what those guys are capable of. Did we retaliate in any real way to that? These terrorist are sub-human and don't care who gets hurt. Any country's masterminds who gleefully arm their own with suicide bombs to do their bidding do not have preservation of life in their DNA.
There were two solutions...you could either send 200k US troops back to Afghanistan and occupy the country with our troops, our money, and outr casualties.....or you could have removed all that equipment from the Afghan Army 3 years ago making them and us completely unable to fend off the Taliban for that period.
So, again, I understand the FOX News zealots want to blame Joe Biden for the Afghan army surrender. Fine. If that makes them feel better. Ultimately it came down to the fact the Afghan Army was only in it for the money. They weren't interested in building a free country. Sad.
