California Libs vote for new new oil refining (California imports 70% of their gasoline), no oil pipelines (the state has none), boutique gasoline formulations and so on:  Now the same tell us that oil companies are screwing them.

These Liberal voters are getting just what they demanded, and good for them.  And hell, I didn't even bring up California's electricity fuck ups.

Yep, they are dumb as rocks.  Naive too.  But they will be the first in to ask for handouts for these issues as usual.  ("Somebody help me!  I can't afford this or that and I didn't know this would happen when I voted this in!  It's only fair now that Govt help me with stimulus of some sort.  Let's print $!  Yay!!")

Ca has the highest gas taxes. To combat the high cost of gas Ca now wants to issue gas rebates.  Maybe the better approach is to lower the gas tax. 

I wont defend California's laws.   They are an example of an overregulated and overtaxed state.

I would not want to live there.

I also wouldn't defend Texas who suffers from a complete lack of regulation and underfunds. Houston's lax city zoning has resulted in a metropolis that completely floods everytime there is a thinderstorm.   And the state's lack of oversite allowd for a fertilizer plant to blow up an entire town.   And their electrical infrastrucure allowed for companies to extort 1000's of dollars from their customers during an outage last year.  

The pendulum can go too far either direction.   My state, Indiana, leans right but its not crazy right.    I'd prefer it lean left but by and large things  work pretty well here.

Jerry - next time you see a bridge get built in your zipcode be sure to thank the "looney" taxpayers of California who paid for it.   And you can also thank the "looney" California tech companies with providing all of the technology you incorporate in your life on a day to day basis.

My state is blue and right next to CA on dependency chart.  

But I agree, the tech companies being in CA and paying CA taxes is idiotic.  Thanks for helping enchance my point about the smartest of the base.  

You can bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch about California, but the truth is, CA pays the freight for millions of those good ol' Americans outside the state who do all the bitching.

I don't bitch about CA.  I'm glad they are all dumb enough to reside there.  Great weather but they have to pay a price for it.  

California goes to an extreme - but its not an accident they are the hub of our country's inovation.  States that tax and spend by investing in education get big economic returns in the form of innovation and well educated entrpreneurs.   

Thats why Wall Street is in New York and not Jackson, MS.   Thats why SIlicon Valley is in California and not Baton Rogue.   And thats why Boston Scientific is in Boston and not Little Rock, Ak

"Dumb" people dont live in California, Jerry.  You'll find those folks working in the meat processing plants in Wichita, KS and other states that believe education is a privlige for rich kids who can afford it.
