The FBI had this information for 4 years & didn't followup. Several witnesses have come forward under oath to say that they were not allowed to followup leads, interview the bidens & the FBI actually tipped off the bidens about investigations.
Now information is coming out about the bribes. There is no reason why the biden family has 20 shell companies when they don't have any businesses.

Barr was at one time a respected conservative AG ( served two terms)..a thoughtful scholar, an originalist, reasonable. As many others did for multiple reasons, Barr eventually became contentious with Trump toward the end of his presidency. I believe Barr jumped into the Swamp Pool during that end-of-term period. He shut down this case as an example, and he very much slow-walked the laptop investigation as well ( both these cases were obviously inextricably intertwined based on what we know now). There was no good justification on his part for failing to assign a special prosecutor to the laptop investigation..he just didn't despite the cumulative evidence ( the same could be said for the current AG Garland; that's another argument, though). I don't know if he was protecting Biden or not per se..or if he was trying to preserve his own legacy...or if he was just tired of assorted daily headaches which would likely have been sorely amplified had he named a special prosecutor. During this time, he was also writing and eventually wanted to sell his book entitled "One Damned Thing After Another". Maybe he had monetary expectations from potential book sales that he was overly focused on. Alternatively, maybe he simply had some vengeance stored up for Trump. Or, maybe he just went nuts.
