Georgia Republipigs pass Jim Crow 2.0

In Georgia, it is now a criminal offense to give food or water to people standing in line to vote. This is just one of the absurd provisions, such as forbidding voting on Sundays, in the recently passed Republican voter suppression bill.

This is what happens when Republicans are in charge. $10,000 electrical bills in Texas, mass superspreader events in Florida, and now the eradication of democracy in Georgia because the Republicans lost and are having tantrums. The Republican party should be outlawed and its leaders rounded up and imprisoned.

It does several abhorrent things  but none more so than giving the Republican legislature the power to overthrow the bipartisan election committees of municiplaities.       So instead of having a local Republican and Democrat review each ballot for its authenticity it would be done exclusively by Republican cronies chosen by Republican legislature.

And it also removes power from the Secretary of State to certify the election.    You might recall how the current Secretary of State didn't "find" (fabricate) the votes Trump wanted him to....so now the facists will give the power to someone who will.

It is like I have said for the last fifteen years. Republicans know they can't win on issues so they have to find new and innovative ways to rig elections in their favor.

Who wants to vote for a guy or gal that says vote for me so I can give your boss a tax cut.

And those good old white boys in Georgia can't stand the thought of black people actually having a say in who runs the state government and who represents Georgia in the Federal system.  Good Republicans like Tom, WoodPecker and Boiler are perfectly fine with authoritarian fascist forms of government if it means their guys get to be the dictators.

Oh, DeJoy is still at it trying to dismantle the Post Office before he gets kicked out.

Urban voters in Georgia are about 75% more likely to have to wait in long voting lines, so they made it illegal to give water to those waiting in line. Because water really is a voter fraud issue, right?

But here's the really really cool part:

I predict that the next election in Georgia will be catered! Not only will thousands of people bring water to the lines, I'm betting that some pretty good food (also illegal) will be served. I wouldn't be surprised if chef José Andrés makes an appearance. Yeah, let 'em try and arrest thousands of people armed with...water.

It should be a party.

I would imagine the water/food thing is easy to circumvent.  Just charge people 1 penny for a bottle of water....Jim Crow circumvented !      But the cronies being able to override local election commitees?  Thats insane.  It will be challenged in court in short order....lets see if that can even hold up.

Why imprison them.Round 'em up and shoot 'em.Cheaper.

BB, I've been thinkibg the same thing.  If we go out there with food and water are the storm troopers who went to the capitol going to be out there with their assault rifles ready to mow us down?

Last time around, we did have hundreds of incidents of armed thugs standing and scowling at voters---though voter intimidation is completely illegal in every state, whether or not laws against it were enforced depended on whether the local authorities were on the side of the voters or the intimidators.

It's disgusting how Republicans, who claim to be the traditionalist Founding Fathers family values Constitutional party yada yada yada belch grunt snort, have rallied behind a coordinated strategy of suppressing the vote. They're like children who have lost a game of kickball and react by stealing the ball and puncturing it.

I for one would like to set up a food truck with free BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and ice-cold Dr. Pepper for all voters, and if anyone tried to hassle me, I'd deploy my Second Amendment rights...y'all.

Kevin don't give them anything.Charge them one penny for anything they want, that way you're not "giving"them anything.

What is stopping Kevin Lewis from doing so, . . . at least for some voters ?    Oh, and please post photos for folks in this forum.
