Have You Ever Wondered Why...

I have friends who are quite wealthy.  One of my best friends, who's home I stay at regularly, is worth about $25 million.  Neither he, nor any of my very financially stable friends classify restaurants as liberal or conservative.  They classify them as Italian, steak joints, etc..  They do classify restaurants as great, good, or mediocre.  I've never had a friend talk about politics as a reason to eat at a restaurant.

Apparantly Liberals do this, but we do not.  Besides, it's liberals who are most likely to harrass one at a restaurant because of political views.  We just want a nice meal.

I'm not talking about your friends...I'm talking about the popoganda artists of the media you watch and the politicians of the party you vote for.

Dont tell me you dont hear those people consttantly preaching about the looney, out-of-touch liberals of Los Angeles or New York.   Its a mainstay of their devisive rhetoric used to draw anger from the heartland which is their primary target.    If you dont think it works I invite you to review one of David Miller's weekly posts on this board about the awful state of California...or some other liberal state.

And its not a pox both houses.   Liberal media and politicians dont demagogue rural America.   Conservative media and politicians absolutely demagogue metro-AMerica.   And  Nevermind the big cities.  Mitch McConnell and Matt bevin routinely campaign against the crazy-elitist-radicals  from Louisville.    Can you imagine if Nancy Pelosi were to say something similar about people living in Beatrice, Nebraska?

No, Boiler, you show your usual feeble understanding of what other people say. Todd said that they choose a place to LIVE based not on their ideologies, but rather, the creature comforts that are available.

This causes them to endlessly rail against liberals, yet choose to live among them. Hypocrisy.

I agree that many on the Right complain about crazy left leaning nuts.  You're the one who brought up that these same Conservatives eat at the same NY restaraunts with Liberals, as if you're astonished.  Short of being harrassed in a restaurant by left leaning nuts, I assure you that Hannity doesn't consider politics when entering a restaurant.

It doesn't surprise me that rich people, Left and Right, like fine dining.

Umm, . . . actually it is a pox on both houses:

From :  Democrats, Predjudice, and Rural America

"I’ve lived in small American towns in rural, out-of-the-way areas for more than three decades, a decade longer than I lived in my birth city of London. I’m continually amazed by how ignorant some urbanites are about rural America. When I tell people I lived in Arkansas, for example, a common reaction is dismay. When I tell them I loved it there, some think I’m crazy.

Ruralites are frequently portrayed as badly educated, gun-toting, bible-thumping racists. Some are of course. Like most people of color I can personally attest to this. But ruralites are as diverse a group as urbanites. Even so, we see the tired caricatures all the time: the ignorant sheriff whose vowels stretch from here to Mississippi, the illiterate hick whose grammar is almost as rotten as his teeth.

For a white Republican friend of mine who lives in rural Virginia, the movie Deliverance, with its depiction of savage hillbillies, is so offensive she can barely utter its name. Deliverance causes her as much pain as Gone with the Wind, with its happy darkies and willfully oblivious heroine, causes me."

Do people in general embrace ignorant stereotypes about geography?  Absolutely.

I'm talking about media and politicians.

Those ignorant stereotypes are not to be found on MSNBC or from Democrats in Congress.   They most certainly are from FOX news, Breitbart, and a politicians at every level of government on the right.     Whether thats Sarah Palin addressing  the "Real America"...or  Rush Limbaugh shitting his pants about Hollywood.

Maybe Bernie Sanders and Rachel Maddow dont fit DonDiego's cup of tea politically - and thats fine.   But they aren't guilty of devisive rhetoric pitted at dividing rural/urban America.

Once again, The Boil considers people only on the left as ''nuts''.

Perhaps his MAGA hat is too tight around his pompas head and cutting off the blood circulation to his brain?

Nope, there are nuts on both sides.  Just more on the Left.  You don't see a bunch of Conservatives shouting down Liberals in restaurants, do you?

Okay, let's see who has more dangerous unAmerican nuts:

• Right-wing gun-toters shutting down the Michigan legislature.

• Right-wing white supremacists, Nazi and KKK sympathizers demonstrating in Charlottesville with a murderous result.

• Right-wingers murdering legal abortion providers.

• In the past 20 years more Americans murdered by right-wing terrorism than on 9/11.

vs.

• Some liberals shouting down conservatives many months ago.

NO comparison.

Actually, I've seen that at least two dozen times in the Trump era.

Boil man is ''Good People''.

In his mind.
