Help me out - is this as crazy as Ice Cream?

Metal detectors and armed trained guards at the main doors.  Not that hard.  I know it is difficult for you guys to apply common sense though.  So how are they not going to be in the right spot, again?  There won't be any guns in the school.  The guards will just be at the main entrances.  Do you think they will be touring the library and pool when someone comes to the main entry door, Candy?

And yeah, I'd pay them what we need to.  Way better than most of our tax money goes for.  Schools are filthy rich here in WI.  We can't seem to spend all the $ fast enough so we are building huge football stadiums to burn it up.  We aren't raising taxes in most of our school districts so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Armed guards and metal detectors at the main doors......to schools I presume?   What about grocery stores, Walmarts, movie theaters, college dormitories, every office, and any of the other building types where mass shootings have occurred?

If you were to do that it would deter any of the good guys from going out in public with their guns....but I thought the whole idea was to have more good guys out in public with their guns.  Cause....what could go wrong?

Yes, unfortunately it is limited to schools and yes, it has holes but it would stop a good chunk of it at schools.  My kids went to a nice surburban HS here and are just a few years removed.  They have a full-on police officer there.  The main entrance is where he is stationed most of the day.  You have to be buzzed into the HS.  I just liked it better than the alternative.

Guys, the problem is not "gun-love", it is the people behind them.  That is my main point.  You can't possibly ignore that.  That somehow has to be addressed.  And yes, that is HUGE issue and not an easy task.  Making guns tougher to get would help but you can't tell me it would help any more than my idea for ALL schools.  I actually think we are on the same team with these tragedies.

I don't think responsible "good guys" conceal carrying is a bad thing at all.  I rarely hear of something going wrong there.  Believe it or not, it is a deterrant for the slimeballs just going crazy wherever they want to.

Now assault weapons.......absolutely not.  No one!

OK, by that logic, we should allow everybody access to rocket launchers, nuclear weapons, poisons, explosives...because the bad guys will always be able to get those things anyway and the good guys will use them responsibly. Because the good guys never get angry or upset or have accidents, and the bad guys have infinite resources.

The only thing wrong with that argument is that there are a LOT fewer gun deaths in countries where access to guns is difficult or impossible.

90% of the mass shootings, some crazy Trumper snaps all of a sudden, usually from watching too much Fox News, then he empties his mom's bank account and dashes off to the local gun show to stock up. We've GOT to make it MUCH more difficult to buy guns, and I'm not just talking about assault weapons. Someone with a few pistols and extra magazines could easily kill dozens of people; an ordinary rifle could be and has been used in the same way.

"Because the good guys never get angry or upset or have accidents"

Very seldom.

And do you know it is some crazy Trumper?  That is a little over the top, don't you think so?  You know the political lean of these nuts?  I listen to "Scarecrow Joe" talk anymore I could go crazy too.

In every case where the shooter's political bent/affiliation has been known (from documents/notes he left behind, social media posts, etc.), it's been RepubliQ/Proud Boys/Crazy Fuckheads of America/Trumpers.

You're not going to see liberals gunning down a school full of children/a church full of black people/a nightclub full of gays/a Wal-Mart full of Hispanics. Not that there aren't liberal bigots/racists/etc., but they rarely express themselves via mass murder.

Don't forget, Trump at least twice joked at one of his rallies about gunning people down in broad daylight, and the base cheered. Oh, how they laughed and cheered! Violence is a fundamental part of the conservitard goober mindset.

I'll lay you any odds you like that the next time a mass shooter's politics are known, it'll be Trumper/RepubliQ.

Every teacher should be mandated to take a gun safety class and carry a gun while on the job.  Problem solved.

Non-unionized Teachers in red states make less money than the produce manager at Walmart.    But in addition to getting a degree and babysitting a class of kids you want them to be a fully trained, armed security guard as well?    Who in their right mind would want to teach kindergarten in Mississippi?

But Thats the price Republicans think we should pay to have an uninfringed 2nd Ammendment.    And I'm happy to let that version of crazy stand on its own feet.

Red states don't think education is important. Teach the kiddos to watch Fox News and hate nonwhite people, and you're good to go.

Armed teachers mean that the shooter takes care to kill the teacher first. That's SO helpful.
