Mark's study did not include hydroxychloeroquine + zinc, but instead only hydroxychloeroquine.

Mark is a perfect liberal, taking things out of context and posting them as the whole story.
About 28% who were given hydroxychloroquine plus usual care died, versus 11% of those getting routine care alone.
It's a preliminary study and it hasn't been peer-reviewed or replicated. And if the study was done at the behest of actual pharmacologists and scientists and doctors, then so be it.
But if it turns out that it was done for political reasons because it was the President's pet theory, then we're going to see hundreds of millions of dollars of lawsuits from the families of the hundred or so deceased veterans who took the drug. And some people should go to prison.

Yes, these people could not have died because they listened to Trump because they had no choice in the matter.
In a properly conducted controlled study, the subjects don't know whether they are taking the drug or the placebo, they are chosen randomly for each category, and even the people administering the drugs don't know who is getting which medication, which is why this type of study is called double-blind.
This is why it is absurd to put any stock in the opinion of the President or the opinion of anyone on this board or the opinion of some pundit or blogger. The scientists will use well-established methods to determine whether the drug has any efficacy.
But so far, based on this limited study, the chances don't look good.
Let's see the results when it's combined with zinc. That appears VERY early on to show efficacy.

About 22% of those getting the drug plus azithromycin died too, but the difference between that group and usual care was not considered large enough to rule out other factors that could have affected survival.
This isn't the first study since Trump started promoting hydroxychloroquine that had a bad result. A study in Brazil had to be abandoned because many of the patients developed heart conditions and died after taking the drug. Another one in France discovered there was no difference in outcomes, but a significant portion of the patients taking hydroxychloroquine developed heart problems. The bottom line is this drug is more likely to kill or permanently damage your heart than it is to cure you of COVID-19. There is unlikely to be any peer-reviewed studies at this point because it is far too risky for the patients to take the drug.
Of course, you and David will not allow Trump to take the blame for ignoring medical professionals like Dr. Fauci who flat out told him this wasn't a miracle cure.
Oh, and Trump's own government made it official today.
A panel of experts convened by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases recommends against doctors using a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for the treatment of COVID-19 patients because of potential toxicities.
"The combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin was associated with QTc prolongation in patients with COVID-19," the panel said.
QTc prolongation increases the risk of sudden cardiac death.
