Never made the dateline, while heading to Australia for R&R (and crossing the Equator), the Parks broke one of the twin screw blades and we diverted to Guam. That was my last cruise. Was a real shame because the officer in charge of R&R in Australia was our old 2nd in command and he had a real reception planned for us. We then returned to San Diego.

Why did you get thrown out of the military?
