Is the Texas abortion ban legal?

David's broad brush position is in line with the people who passed the law.  I dont feel inclined to argue.

Women of Texas and everywhere else should take note and hold their own representaives accountable in the coming elections.

David argues against the killing of a newborn, which is not legal in Texas or anywhere else, and never has been.

He's losing it.

I've been hoping for some time now that the people of Texas (the good ones) would rise up and vote out these scumbags. But apparently, a large proportion of Hispanics---who should NEVER vote Republican--vote for conservative candidates solely because of the abortion issue.

Please tell us what those verifiable medical reasons would be.

IMO a person values human life in any form (blind, crippled, multiracial), or accepts abortion as a choice of the mother based on a variety of factors including rape and certain medical reasons.

I lean pro choice, whatever the condition of the fetus, as in PJ's example, or whatever the mother's social reasons are.

Is the Texas ban legal?  I have no idea, except I fear it sets a precedent.

Candy, fortunately, no precedent is set by the Court's refusal to hear a challenge to a law. This was actually a neat little do-si-do by the conservative justices. Since the plaintiffs sought an emergency injunction, all they had to do was decree that the situation didn't constitute an emergency. I've read that a more formalized suit would have to be given consideration on its intrinsic merits.

This wasn't meant to be a discussion on the merits of abortion, only its legality, but of course, Stalker skewed it that way. My personal opinion is that of COURSE a woman has the right to an abortion, as she has the right to determine what goes on inside her own body, and that a fetus is not a human being. But my opinion on this doesn't constitute the law, and neither does anyone else's.

Regardless of its Constituional status....

Isn't it interesting the Governor of Texas and the Republican Party in general is declaring the vaccine mandate a massive government intrusion on one's personal health freedom.....but then turning around and telling women they are forced to have their rapist's baby?

Just food for thought.

Yeah, PJ, Republican hypocrisy has always been breathtaking, but everything's bigger in Texas.

This is going to cost them big time, not just in Texas but also nationally. And just wait until some yahoo tries to collect an abortion bounty. He might not be happy that anyone can carry a gun in Texas.

What a shithole state!

I am SO pleased to see that Kevin has such an asinine opinion of my beloved state of Texas. He is not welcome in Texas, as far as I am concerned. The filth and stupidity he spews would not fly and he would receive his just reward if he ran his ignorant mouth. Texas is home to real men who don't put up with liars.

David, the good news is the "real men" of Texas won't have to worry about them liberals from tech companies moving in.  It seems the educated liberal-leaning employees that typically work these kinds of high-paying jobs don't want to live under the rule of the American Taliban.

David's prattle about "real men" (I guess the other 49 states have only artificial men) and his threats about my receiving my "just reward" should I visit perfectly describe why no one wants to visit Texas. Remember, I christened him "Stalker" for his multiple death threats to me and others. If they're all like him there, why visit? Bunch of gun-loving racist cowboys who elect crazy people. Feh!

I hasten to add that should I choose to visit Texas in the future for some reason, I'll do so without seeking his or anyone else's permission and he's weak and powerless to stop me,, despite his chest-thumping bravado.

I can see, for example, how I might want to travel there to collect all the pickup trucks from the dead covid people and recycle them for scrap. There's going to be lots of money to be made in the Croaked Texans industry.

As expected, Kevin took the bait. He is so easy....

Stalker is back to his usual behavior.

"Usual behavior"? Nothing new here with me - I speak the truth and our resident psycho keeps on lying from his "berthing person's" basement -where he can spew his lies and filth. I really don't care what he says, for as time goes on his past lies and future lies will be abundantly clear for all to see as his brain dead traitor Biden and the corrupt DemocRat party are exposed as who they really are by their actions as they continue with their destruction of America. Actions do speak louder, and more truthfully, than words. Soon the once silent real Americans will have their say. I look forward to and will enjoy the removal of Biden, worthless Harris, Pelosi, Cortez, Schumer, Schiff, Milley, and Biden's hand picked Cabinet. This will happen, and when it does, America will begin the healing process and sanity will once again take place. So keep on running your lying mouth Kevin, for that is all you got.
