It is official now. It wasn't a riot. It was sedition...

11 were just charged with participation in a seditious conspircy. And this means more great things will follow.

1. Conservatives can no longer refer to it simply as a riot.

2. Anybody that was aware of this scheme and took some action to further it can also be charged as being part of the conspiracy. This could implicate a lot of sitting members of Congress. Wouldn't it be great if 20 - 30 Republican members of Congress end up getting charged with sedition? I bet there are quite a few Republican officeholders walking around with clenched ass cheeks today.

  Another witch hunt.

Actually, Davey Dear, no one is suspected of witchcraft. Don't use stupid Trumpisms--they make you look stupid.

The only trouble is, hundreds of RepubliQ assholes, including some high-placed ones up to and including the Orange Turd, are doubtless guilty--but at some point in the appeals process, they'll hit a Trumpy court and get their convictions thrown out (even if they have to go all the way to the Supreme Trump Court).

This was the reason why one of the very few things the Turd ever expended any effort on was packing the courts at all levels with Trump puppets. He knew that eventually, he and his lackeys would be standing before those courts. This was his literal Get Out of Jail Free card.

I think the intended purpose--maybe the sole purpose--of these hearings is not to punish the seditionists--the Democrats know that's never gonna happen--but to expose the RepubliQ politicians who have kept their mouths shut about the treason of their colleagues. Bringing things to a vote forces them to put their insurrectionist support into the Congressional Record. Then, the Democrats who will run against them in the midterms can use that as a cudgel--as they should.

It's not "official" until they're convicted.

And all of those state legislators and leaders who signed fake electoral college votes with fake state seals? That sounds like sedition too.

If Federal Law Enforcement has enough evidence to bring charges of a seditious conspiracy, that is more fact-based than cable news referring to it as a generic riot. More than likely within the next two months one or more of these traitors will play Let's Make a Deal confessing to the betrayal of their country. You should read the indictment they had operations centers set up to funnel weapons into the capital.

I disagree with Kevin on the big politicos getting away.  Typically, you can't appeal a criminal case until it is over and a verdict has been rendered. Judges are very reluctant to overturn jury verdicts. To get off so to speak their best hope is for a Trump 2024 victory and then a pardon. The problem for them is accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt in the Federal system so they would still be precluded from holding a Federal Office.

Furthermore, news broke a few days ago that the Prosecutor in Georgia investigating Trump for election tampering held a pre-indictment meeting with Trump's attorneys so it looks like Trump will face charges there.

The false electoral college certifications and the election tampering in the individual states were all part of the same seditious conspiracy designed to stall Biden's certification and install Trump as El Presidente.

If the recorded Trump phone call to the Georgia AG about finding votes doesnt result in a jail sentence we officially dont have a justice system.

Well...we don't. Trump and every single one of his lackeys, enablers, and followers should have been swinging from lampposts long ago. Maybe...maybe...a few of the lower-level goons will spend a few months in a cushy federal prison, with cable teevee and home-cooked meals. That'll be it.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if the RepubliQ flips either the House or the Senate, these investigations will come to a screeching halt--and I wouldn't be surprised if the RepubliQ then tries to prosecute the prosecutors. So all this has to be finished in about nine months--and no way will that happen. The system has so many ways to delay things built in--Trump, etc. can stall and stall and stall until the end of democracy is brought about in November. He's got lots of drooling followers who will happily pony up for his legal bills.

That's why they're going to delay and delay and delay until permanent RepubliQ power is installed, and at that point, they can simply have all the judges who preside over the Trump trials dismissed and/or killed.

It would only take a three-year delay. That's like five minutes in Legal Land. We've already run out of time to bring the Trump criminal conspiracy to justice.
