The January 6 hearings are really working according to the metrics of The Kitchen Sink.

Ever since the hearings began, all the right-wingers here have essentially disappeared. Are they embarrassed? Defensive? Feeling defeated? I don't honestly know. 

But when they are no longer defending their side, I think that's a very, very good sign. Hopefully, it's happening elsewhere in the US.

I think Charles' post from last week summed it up.

Over the course of several hours, we learned that some rioters tried to destroy our democracy by entering the Capitol Building and taking selfies and putting their booted Nazi feet upon Nancy Pelosi's sacred desk. We learned that some of them broke a window and used bad language—even the "f-word!". One of them wore a buffalo hat and face paint that made him look like the demon who haunts my sleep paralysis dreams. And then, to cap it all off, when they were done, they went out for tacos. TACOS!

It is not a hearing but an inquisition as pelosi didn't allow any opposing members on the committee to cross examine the witnesses, so we are only hearing 1 version.

Other than the liberal media, the country isn't interested.  Only 20m watched it last week (less than biden's SOTU)  Viewership has been going down since then.

Meanwhile the rest of the country is concerned about

1- the economy; Fed's GDP q2 projection is now zero

2- inflation; we have gone one whole day without gas prices going up

3- illegal immigration

4- crime

5- war in Ukraine

6- unemployment claims are creeping up.

You guys can keep babbling about it, the rest of us are more interested in the real issues.

I get that you don't think it's any big deal that a GOP congressman guided insurrectionists around House security sites the day before the insurrection. Or that Trump voiced approval that Pence be hung. Or that Pence refused to get into a Secret Service car because he was afraid of what would happen to him. Or that multiple people in the Trump sphere, including his top election lawyer, asked for pardons after the insurrection.

I think they are big deals and you don't. Let's just agree to disagree. (I would have said that "honorable men can disagree," but that would have left you out.)

But the point of this thread is that you guys have mostly disappeared from this forum. Not even complaints about inflation, or Immigrant Caravans, or Benghazi!, or even tans suits.

As I said, I don't know why, but it smells like you guys are a bit demoralized. At least I hope so.

Well, stupid Tommie-poo isn't interested in the hearings because he supports the insurrectionists and doesn't want to hear anything bad said about them, Davey Dog is in Vegas, getting his ass kicked yet again; Boiler doesn't see anything anti-Black, anti-Hispanic, or anti-female about the hearings, so he's not interested; and Charles is simply off his meds and while willing to scream about the hearings, has yet to say anything coherent about them.

Don't worry, though. We'll hear from all our resident RepubliQ scumbags in due time. In the meantime, enjoy the relative peace and quiet.

Maybe it's because no one with any sense really cares about what goes on here or cares about the stupid actions of a few hundred rioters 18 months ago.  Maybe we're out there in the real world where we see:

1.  Declining standard of living due to Bidenflation.

2.  Loss of 6 trillion in stock market value since January.

3.  Spending triple to fill our gas tanks because of Democrat's war on fossil fuels.

4.  Open borders allowing hundreds of thousands of un-vetted illegal border crossers.

5.  Crime on the rise in just about every major city.

And just maybe while you Democrats here are circle jerking to the J6 hearings, Republicans are out in the real world working to help ensure the massive red wave coming in November.  But hey...I hope you all continue to sit on your asses and spend your lives on the LVA kitchen sink like Kevin and Toad and PJ and Mark and MP.... while we recruit new voters in the real world.

Meanwhile the first Mexican born US congress person.....a Republican and a woman...just flipped a Southwest Texas district that was controlled by Democrats for over 100 years.  Mayra Flores won in an area that is 84% Hispanic.  Crazy Joe's popularity among Hispanics has now dropped to 26%.   By the time the midterms roll around, I think the only voters who will support democrat candidates are a few dead end, hard core leftist who give each other blow jobs on obscure message boards.  If the shoe fits, wear it cucks!

1. If you're so stupid as to blame Biden for inflation...and how exactly are you measuring "standard of living"? Or did you just pull that out of your ass? (Wages have skyrocketed, but I guess that doesn't count.)

2. The stock market didn't decline in value. Stocks have declined in PRICE. It's not a difficult distinction to understand, but perhaps it's beyond you.

3. Triple? Idiot hyperbole. But yeah, Russian's war has disrupted world markets. Maybe you ought to go talk to Putin. I'm sure you know how to persuade him.

4. The "open borders" meme is just conservitard nonsense.

5. So what? Increased economic activity after the pandemic. To be expected after two years of lockdowns.

Conservatives really dont want to understand how the Insurrection went way beyond the mouthbreathers who stormed the Capital on Jan 6....  like where those people received their mission statement...or how the White House tried to erase legitimate votes and electors....or how the White House tried to start a COnstitutional crisis by pressuring the VP to declare the election invalid.

Thats why they pretend to be upset the hearings are invalid because Nancy Pelosi wouldnt let Congressmen implicated in the insurrection participate on the committee investigating it.   Boo-friggin-Hoo.  And the Republicans who are on the committee are ..um...well, lots not talk about that.

I'm not interested in trying to change Tom or Charles' minds or any of the rest of their ilk.   Who gives a shit what the Tucker Carlson dipshits think?    Facts are facts.  These are Trump's own people who are testifying under oath and they all tell the same story....everyone around him knew he lost and advised him as such but he continued to pursue and convey the Big Lie anyway because our Democracy was less important to him than his big, fat, crybaby, sore-loser ego.   And they did illegal things in doing so.

It's clear our previous President made fatal mistakes regarding Jan 6. In my mind a crucial issue was his apparent deranged behavior regarding manipulative attempts toward Pence and others around him pertinent to the election outcome. Numerous court election challenges support Biden's win, and it's just a fact. I didn't like that outcome, but it is what it is.

I voted for Trump..twice. I agree with some of his tenure decisions regarding fiscal / monetary policies, national defense, and yes, the major tax cut efforts (admittedly, I benefitted directly from said cuts). No liberal arguments will change my view of his approaches in those areas..those who choose to disagree have the liberty to..I'll agree to disagree. Over the course of his tenure, I didn't particularly like his style of communication, eg "look what I did"..self-aggrandizing methods employed too often. Too much flutter..and too much Twitter. 

I think Trump is done. On to DeSantis in 2024..there's some gas for the dumpster fire in here. Fuel on.
