Jerkoff Jerry adds his usual nothing to the topic. He's just here looking for men.
I think she waited until she knew that the Dems' majority would remain intact.

If she sides with the Repugs, like she's done many times in the past, there won't be a majority.
I think she was doing Democrats a favor. She probably would not have switched parties if Warnock lost.
It doesnt really change anything. She was not a big legislative partner before. The most you could count on her for was not blocking a Supreme Court nominee.
I dont begrudge her decision. It probably fits herself best. She's pro-choice, pro-lbgt, pro-environment ..... and libertarian when it comes to taxation, and government programs and regulations. She truthfully says neither party accomodates that profile.
The only real problem her decision poses is if she decides to run again and how that impacts that election. If she runs as an independant Democrats will have no shot at winning. They would almost have to let her go unoppossed. That likely has a big role in her decision.

Of course, being pro-environment and anti-government regulation is nonsensically contradictory, but I guess we should be glad she's not on the Handmaid's Tale side.
Joe Lieberman in a dress.
My take on it is she doesn't plan to run in 2024 even though she could spoil the Democrats chances. It's unlikely she would win re-election as an independent and she knows this. The Democratic base doesn't like her because she betrayed them. They certainly are not going to hold their nose and vote for her because she's better than the crazy conservative alternative. And she won't win over any Kari Lake supporters either.
She ran away from the positions she campaigned on when she got elected and she literally ran away from her base and hid in the bathroom after winning her election. At the time I saw it as she was content to be a one-term senator and she was simply feathering her nest to secure a high paying gig after she was out of office. She's not an independent in the sense of what one thinks of as an independent. Her positions are consistently pro-corporate and pro-wealthy Americans.

Im not so sure. She didnt have a snowball's chance in hell of getting through a Democratic primary and she knew it. As an Indepndant Democrats are fucked if they run against her. None of the Kari Lake voters are going to go for her....which means the only voters she steals away are center-lefties. So what do you do if you're Democrats? Probably hold your nose and hope she wins.
The big problem she'll have if she runs is a lack of money unless she can get some kind of Super Pac sponcer. And she'll need alot of money in AZ which is officially a swing state.
