Looks like the orange liar's plan to have a special master backfired.

LOL!!!!!

Yep, it was a humiliating ruling for Trump's pet judge. They said she can't allow everyone served a search warrant to stop an investigation nor can she make a special rule that just applies to snowflake Trump.

Trump's furious, because he appointed all those Trumpy judges, and her especially, specifically so they would make rulings that would only apply to him. Looks like she decided to be a judge instead of a Trump. Oopsy!

Trump appointed two of the three judges that failed to do Trump's bidding. It was an unambiguous rejection of the abuse of the legal system as mischievously practiced for decades by Roy Cohn, Trump and their ilk and definitely a good day for the rule of law.

The two Trump-appointed Circuit Court judges -- as well as the third judge on the three judge panel --  left the District Court Trumpie judge's legal career in tatters after the unusual incoming she received in the decision.

I was especially delighted when the appellate judge who, during oral argument, sternly rebuked Trump's lawyer after he called the duly authorized and legally executed search of Mar-a-Lago a "raid."

Yesterday's decision along with the losses in the November midterms of Trump's hand-picked election denying candidates (governors and secretaries of state) who would have been in critical offices in swing states in the next election is encouraging that our flag is still there, so to speak and not to get too syrupy about it but had it gone the other way could have made the 2020 overthrow attempt a dry run for a successful 2024 coup.

Trump is done, effectually speakin.

Could be my old-man cynicism, but I'm not ready for a victory lap yet. Drumpf's political obit has been written many times, but he always seems to brazen his way through it. Even if he ends up in prison (or, more likely, defecting to Russia one step ahead of the cops), that wouldn't be the death of Trumpism. You still have almost half the voting population of Georgia supporting a mess like Herschel Walker.

But at least, for now, the judges showed a degree of rationality. I guess I'll take the rays of hope when I can find them.

Trump's not done. Even if he is indicted in multiple jurisdictions which is likely, it is unlikely those cases would go to trial before the next presidential election.

Republicans are stuck with Trump as their nominee in 2024 because he has them by their balls.  If they go with someone else, he's going to wreck that person's chances by bad mouthing them, telling the MAGAs not to vote or he will simply  run as an independent.

Trump sees a perpetual candidacy as a get out of jail free card and a way to keep raising money from the rubes.

Well, the problem was never Trump himself--there's at least one in any political crowd of any size. It's the complete morons/evil fucks who voted for him and most of whom still worship him.

I mean, would you want to be in the same room, must less associate with, anyone who observed Trump's antics and decided "DAWWWWWK...He make gud Prezidunt!"?

And yeah, Walker should get 0.01% of the vote--he's as dumb as a tree stump--but he'll get close to half even if he doesn't win. And that makes Georgia a place to stay at least 1,000 miles away from.

I disagree..I think he is, despite your superficial / ostensible rundown of evidence in the above post. I'm not totally discounting those points, necessarily; but I think you assign too much future power and influence to Trump and his base for 2024. His subsequent two year course is fraught with concertine wire to navigate in various forms. Course, I could be overlooking something or factually underestimating the response of his followers. We'll see.

Today's late afternoon Twitter/ Elon news might help his cause a bit though. We'll see about that too, eventually.

Charles, it turns out Elon's big reveal wasn't even as big as Gerlado's reveal of Al Capone's vault. At least Geraldo found some empty beer bottles.
