A message from Pfizer

“Pfizer is not having any production issues with our COVID-19 vaccine, and no shipments

containing the vaccine are on hold or delayed. This week, we successfully shipped all 2.9 million doses that we were asked to ship by the U.S. Government to the locations specified by them. We have millions more doses sitting in our warehouse but, as of now, we have not received any shipment instructions for additional doses."

Well, I'm sure that with Mike Pence at the wheel and Donald Trump masterfully directing Operation Space Force Warp Factor Nine, or whatever it's called, doses of the vaccine will magically appear in everyone's hands by Christmas.

Maybe we would be in a bter place if the president attended one of the task force meetings at some point in the last 6 months

I suspect Trump or one of his pals has a stake in AstraZeneca and that is why more of the other vaccines weren't ordered. Now Trump is sitting his fat ass on the vaccine supplies until the one he has a stake in gets approved. As a bonus, eventually, we will get the 70% effective vaccine rather than the 95% effective ones. Sickening and I am sure all the LVA conservatives are on board with it.

You can't have it both ways. If you think (as I think you do, and as I definitely do) that Trump is a dangerous, ignorant idiot who pushes pseudo-science and cares only about his own power, influence and money, then having him provide input or direction at Covid Task Force meetings would put us in a *worse*, not better, place.

This is an ideal place for Sen. Moynihan's "benign neglect." We will be best served If Trump just plays golf for the next month until he is unceremoniously ushered from the White House either by U.S. Marshals or the friendly men in white coats. #countingthedays

Yeah, Jeff, but you're forgetting one critical factor--compliance. With Trump sending his MAGA morons messages of indifference and/or complete bullshit, no-masking became a badge of honor for those brain-dead drooling scum. So did gathering in large groups. And soon, it'll manifest itself in proud refusal to get vaccinated.

Now, of course, I don't care if all these worthless cretins get infected and die. But on the way, they'll infect you and me. I don't live in a Trumper-free town (yet). So the insane politics of an issue that should not be remotely political may yet sicken and/or kill me.

So, yes, Trump is an incompetent, evil shit and his participation in the pandemic mitigation process wouldn't have directly helped, but at least if he had feigned taking it seriously, his adoring followers might have done so as well. I do think that once he's dragged off to prison, Trumpism will fade slowly away. I'm not worried about him leading a 2024 reelection effort from his cell.

Love to see the Vindman brothers do the escorting.

The Pfizer product was approved a few days ago.  Had Trump and friends acquired all of the freezer equipment needed to handle this product and then the FDA didn't approve the vaccine, those here complaining would have whined about that move.  You are the same folks who complained that Trump didn't put 100% of his eggs in the Pfizer basket and that he didn't order hundreds of millions of doses prior to approval.  Had Trump did this, you would have bitched if Pfizer didn't get approval.

You guys bitch no matter what happens.  Besides, these are Trump vaccines, and Liberals won't be willing to get a Trump vaccine shot.

Its just another example of how the sitting president flagrantly lies to the public about his own incompetence and his base covers for him.

The official White House position on the vaccine rollout problems was that is was an issue with Pfizer.    Thats an easily disproven fact. Its actually a logisitics failure with the government.

I'm able to give the government some slack on issues with rolling out something of the scale that we are seeing with this vaccine.      I have no slack to give to the president for lying about those issues and trying to blame the hero of the story for his own failures.      Good thing Boilerman has plenty of slack to take up for mine.

Learn to spell "liberals," Boiler.

They're not "Trump vaccines" any more than the ham sandwich I just had was a Trump sandwich. He didn't make either one.

What you fail to realize (as you fail to realize so many, many things) is that Trump was asked directly by Pfizer if he wanted to order the additional vaccine doses, and he said no. Saying yes wouldn't have been "putting his eggs in one basket," because that wouldn't have precluded getting other vaccines as well. It was just pure, stupid, neglectful blundering on his part--pure Trump, in other words.

You cheer for Trump no matter what happens. We sensible and decent actual citizens "bitch," on the other hand, because Trump's inaction and stupidity have cost and will cost American lives. How many people will die while waiting for the vaccine who would have been saved if we had more of it--if Trump hadn't been screaming about Joe Biden and the "rigged" election rather than paying attention to vaccine supplies?

Human lives, Boiler. I know you don't care about others, because you smoke and don't wear a mask. But why cheer for and defend Trump, the murderer of 180,000 Americans (so far!)? Do you approve of death?
