They knew about the refrigeration thing for months. A competent leader would have anticipated logistical problems. But hell Trump didn't even get to thinking about logistical problems because he couldn't be troubled to fill the order form out when the pharmaceutical companies asked how many additional doses he would like to reserve for the US.

The logistical problem is that the vaccines are produced at a few geographical locations but have to be distributed literally everywhere. This, I agree, was probably beyond Trump's cognitive abilities to realize. "We," including all of my third-grade class, knew that stuff produced in one place has to be shipped to get to another place. Y'know, logistics. Anybody with a brain (which excludes Trump) would have seen the massive logistical problem coming.
That's why real leaders hire and listen to experts based on their knowledge and abilities rather than their "loyalty.." Trump hired a bunch of stooges to "advise" him (i.e., lick his balls), and fired or ignored the few that dared to speak truth to power.
Regardless of the logisitcal snags (which I believe are excusable), why is it ok for the president to make up a fictional story about how the Pfizer somehow did not manufacture enough stockpile?
Saying something that is untrue elevates to the status of "lie" when the orator knows it to be such. And thats the case here. If I was the chariman of Pfizer I'd be pursuing a lawsuit.

No matter how much Trump lies, and no matter how many people are hurt or killed because of those lies, there will always be people like Boiler to defend him.
It's a setup to make Biden look like a failure. The Trump administration over-promises and because of sabotage, the Biden administration looks like it under-delivers. It will result in additional suffering and death, but Trump wants this. Do you know why?
Because he is a sociopath.
But Boilerman (or others), if you were smiling when you read that first paragraph, do you know why?
Same reason.

The product was not approved until a few days back. You would have been one of the first bitching if Trump bought all the freezer equipment and then the FDA didn't approve the product. The FDA vote to approve was no where near a slam dunk at 16-4, I believe, we several of the yes votes showing reservations.
You were going to bitch if it got approved or didn't get approved. I believe it was you who said Trump should have put all of his eggs in the Pfizer basket. The means that he wouldn't of also cut a deal with Moderna, which turns out to be the better product. You would have bitched at that.
You are complaining that there are too many unknowns for anyone to answer until after the fact.

Responsible leadership includes preparing for complex situations and having to make decisions based on data over time. Could anyone have anticipated the exact timing of the vaccine rollouts? No. Could anyone have been prepared for that complex task? Yes. But Trump wasn't. He had his feeble little mind on other things, like "election fraud" and Hunter Biden.
Even a complete dolt like Trump could have handled this, though. Doltish leaders who are at least aware they are dolts hire experts and listen to them. What did Trump do? He dismantled the team of experts created by his predecessor to deal with this exact crisis. When you're stupid, letting the smart people make the decisions is the best move. But Trump's ego won't let him do that.
Trump arranging for the federal government to buy all the vaccine Pfizer could produce would NOT have precluded making a similar deal with Moderna. Saying otherwise, Boiler, is just plain stupid.
Why do you worship that stupid man?

If the FDA was going to flip a coin, and one outcome needed a trillion in expenditures, and other other outcome needed a trillion in expenditures, Kevin, Mister, Mark and other Liberals would have complained no matter the outcome of the coinflip.
You guys are Monday morning quarerbacks, and you've never played football.

That was the point of operation warp speed. The vaccines would be manufactured in advance and ready to ship once approval was granted. It was the Trump administration's plan that Trump has mentioned by name several times. Trump simply didn't follow through with his own plan.
And yes they knew all the vaccines in development needed refrigeration. Again what was required was to simply follow their own plan and not to forget to order the vaccines and refrigeration units. Trump dropped the ball because he has been too busy with conspiracy theories and trying to get government officials to sign off on his plan to stage a coup to remain in power.
Nope, I never said Trump should have put all of his eggs in one basket. That is what he chose to do and he chose the least effective vaccine out of the three that were approved 75% vs 95%.
