A monumental waste of time

God can bite me.

Certain concepts and ideas are not merely opinions, nor are those concepts and ideas subject to anyone's opinion. Such as whether it is right or wrong to incite a violent insurrectionist mob to attack the seat of US government, and whether it is right or wrong to prosecute anyone who commits such incitement.

I'm mostly a moral relativist rather than a moral absolutist--or, if you prefer, I do acknowledge that there are such things as situational morality and situational ethics. However, some things are unforgivable. Trump's vicious attacks on the very foundation of our democracy--and I refer to all such actions during his presidency--were absolute wrongs. That's not an opinion--it's a fact.

So I am absolutely intolerant of anyone who supports the destruction of our democracy---which includes a shockingly large percentage of the population. 75 million people voted to end democracy? Unforgivable! They aren't entitled to their "opinions," any more than murderers or rapists are entitled to opine that their actions are right or wrong.

Be very careful in Mocking God, you WILL be on your knees before him and judged for your deeds whether you believe in him or not,

I won't be on my knees before God or anyone else after I die, because...I'll be dead. Dead people are generally unable to kneel, or do anything else for that matter.

Well this will be as good as it gets for you then, enjoy the rest of your pitiful bitter life, but if you do repent and come to the Lord, ill see you on the other side, in the mean time, I'll be praying for you, because in spite of what you think, you're wrong about God, he does exist and he sent his son to die on the cross for you.God will get the last word, and in your case, you're not gonna like what he has to say.

Roger S, I think Kevin didn't read the scripture very closely.  Otherwise, it would have brought him some peace, I think.  At least he can be assurred that Trump's "every deed...including every hidden thing" will be judged..."good or evil."   And it isn't wrong that opinions..."can go on forever"  and become very exhausting.

People pretending they know what God thinks, how he judges, and what qualifies as a sin are the big problem with religion in general.     The New Testament has many inspiring lessons in it regardless of ones beliefs.   But I can't stand to go to Church and listen to the stuffed shirt moron at the front lecture about the sins of Muslims, gays, atheists, and whatever other group he wants to disparage that week.    Seems antithetical to the unification message I got from the New Testament.

you can find the lord without the help of your local false prophet who pretends he can speak with him.

Well, Candy, you know what...one of the most enduringly appealing tenets of the Christian faith is that life actually is fair and like Santa, God is keeping track of who's naughty and nice and will hand out rewards and punishments as appropriate. (I know that finding a lump of coal in your stocking isn't really the same as burning in hell for all eternity, but roll with me here.)

The sad truth is that Trump has lived a far better life than 99.99% of us could ever dream of and he's never going to be punished for the things he did to get him there. When he dies, he'll be dead. Period. The only ones to judge him will be his fellow human beings, and we all know that (shudder) many will judge him quite favorably.

Religion was invented to provide solace for the great conundrums and torments of life. We all die? No, not really. Life isn't fair? Don't worry, it'll all be made better in the end. Life is short and often painful? Don't sweat it, this is only a brief prelude to a glorious eternity. We can't fathom how this or that was made, how this or that works, why this or that happens? You don't need to, just read this holy book and drop a shekel in the collection plate.

And you know what? I'm sure I could find some "peace" if I was able to delude myself into accepting some kind of religious faith. The actual brand name wouldn't matter---every single religion ever invented by man denies death as a reality. It would make it easier to accept the deaths of my friends and relatives, and my own mortality. "We all go to a better place. Death is just a new beginning." Very, very, very seductive delusion. I just can't swallow it---in no small part because I view "faith"--believing something without proof or evidence--to be a failing, not a virtue.
