The most disturbing sight of all

I'm not going to post the picture, because you've all seen it. Dozens of heavily armed stormtroopers lined up on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, prepared to beat up and arrest (and maybe kill) anyone who dares to trespass there. Just in case any citizens exercise their right to peacefully assemble (see: Bill of Rights).

We see this sort of thing in Russia, China, and othe authoritarian nations all the time. But I never thought we'd see it in this country. What's kind of rich--and very sad--is that Trumpers bleat all the time about how horrible those countries are and thank God we have a party in charge that protects the sacred values of our Founding Fathers blah blah blah.

Then they line up to lick the balls of a man who treats his country's citizens the same way those other dictatorships do and wipes his ass with the Constitution every day.

Just think about it for a while. Heavily armed troops deployed to prevent you and me from approaching the Lincoln Memorial.

If you ever had any urge to experience what it was like to live in Soviet Russia in 1950 or Germany in 1936, you can do so now, under the rule of the Orange Asshole.

The so-called "storm troopers" also have the right to peacefully assemble - which, as the picture shows, they were doing. 

The "troops" are there to protect the monuments.

That's idiotic. They were ORDERED to be there. Peaceful assemblies, on the other hand, are by definition voluntary.

The troops are there to project Trump's tough-guy image and to "dominate" the protestors, per his playbook.

Surely you don't think it takes several dozen stormtroopers to prevent graffiti. It's a show of disproportionate force, nothing more.

And BTW, the Republican "party of fiscal prudence" must surely object to the expenditure of tens of thousands of dollars to deploy Trump's Praetorian Guards everywhere. Just sayin'.

I remember when the monuments were closed due to Republicans shutting down the government.   The FOX News crowd lost their shit....and there weren't even any soldiers just signs saying the park was closed.

Meanwhile, in Minneapolis, criminals slashed the tires of cars parked at a K-Mart.
