That's just it David it may have started hundreds of years ago but the colonization and subjecation of those South American and Central American states has gone on and is still going on. American corporations see those areas as cheap labor and raw materials. The purposely keep those areas poor and subject those folks to violent oppersion with a wink and nod from the American government.

Hell Wal-Mart destroyed one of the most iconic historical sites in Mexico.   Even though they broke US law in doing so they were let go with simply a "stern" warning not to lie, cheat and steal again.

Liberals will next be demanding that we tear down the pyramids.  After all, they where built by slaves for the slave owners.  How about Caesars Palace in Vegas?  Do we tear that down next?  Why do Libs complain about the Fight Illini, and not the Fighting Irish?

The abuses of Native Americans by Europeans started 500 years ago, but they didn't stop then. They continue to this day.

You can belittle their suffering if you wish. You can be dismissive of their grievances. You can be cavalier about the fact that every treaty the US signed with Native Americans has been broken. And at the same time, you can wave the American flag.
